PS5 DualSense doesn't like my Ace Combat 7

Hello everyone, I'm trying to solve an issue that doesn't make any sense.

I've found topics on Reddit and even here, on this same forum, but I've never managed to find a solution.

I have Ace Combat 7 and I would like to play it with the PS5 DualSense controller.
The controller is easily recognized both via cable and Bluetooth by my PC. It is also detected by DS4 Windows, and I'm using the latest released version. Through Steam, I can launch any game with the DualSense and play practically anything (even The Elder Scrolls Online, which I prefer to play with mouse and keyboard).
Ace Combat is the only game that doesn't receive input from the DualSense. I start the game and it simply... doesn't work—no input at all, neither in the menus nor during gameplay. I really don't know what to do.

Could some kind soul help me figure out how to fix this? Many thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help, even if it doesn’t work out :)

If we're talking steam input, try launching steam as administrator, and try it in big picture mode if you haven't

i'm also using a dualsense controller but it works just fine for me, although i don't think i have ds4windows installed?

try digging around in steam controller settings, maybe for some unknown reason you got a blank layout for ace combat 7 or something, idk tho
