High GPU temps when game is paused

So when I'm playing AC7 my GPU temps stay around 50-65C. But when I paused the game, the GPU will climb to 81c, at which point I unpause and the temps go back down. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm using a MSI 2070 Super on max settings with Vsync and capped 60FPS.

Never heard of a problem like that with any games. It's pretty weird to increase the temperature when the game pauses specifically.

Blur effect, perhaps (when the game is paused). It might be a problem in your case, but most of us who play it don't have this issue.

Yeah I've tried locking the frames, and motion blur is off on any game I play. Could me my fan situation but the CPU stays at 50c so I'm not sure what's going on.

do you have vsync enabled? if not it could be crunching a few hundred frames while the game is paused

if you already have the game vsync on and its not helping try nvidias own vsync in the nvidia control panel, the "fast" vsync option is better than many games own vsync

thats why i added my second reply im trying to help someone with an issue and this is 99% what causes this, why are you sticking your nose in where its not wanted you dont have a clue whats causing his problem so why dont you STFU and sit down.

Throughout the past 2 years on this message board i have noticed you doing similar things on threads and have come to the conclusion that you are one of this forums largest "problems"

my point is that your reply is probably more useless and less helpful to OP than the other guys. His first resposne may have been useless, but his second one was. All of your responses have not helped OPs issue at all

my point is that your reply is probably more useless and less helpful to OP than the other guys. His first resposne may have been useless, but his second one was. All of your responses have not helped OPs issue at all

Guys is this necessary? If ya'll want to argue make a thread for it. This isn't providing a solution. Though I did lay all of that out in the original post, there's no real point in calling people out when you can easily do it in a civil manner and avoid an argument. Thank you.

I agree. I saw everything that might turns out here and I decided to stay away. I have my Three Strikes here in this forums - suits me as Boruto Uzumaki or some sort.


Anyways, yours could be one of the issues I can think of. Blur effect, game resolution, sudden FPS slowdowns (when you pause the game), or maybe something else I can't think of. Did you have the same issue when playing games other than this one?

Fun fact: I once blamed this game for killing my RX 470 GPU twice in a row. Probably because of my continuous usage of the GPU for gaming, which probably overheats the capacitor and broke. Who knows if it can break again in my new one.

I have no tried this and was not aware there was an option. I will let you know the results. Thank you
