Is the DLC worth it?

looking to get the game, but should i get the DLC too? from what i seen is just more planes but i dont plan on playing multiplayer, jus the story

The three story missions are pretty great.

I never bothered with the planes though. The game is easy enough without overpowered planes.

The same as Devsman, i recommend you to get the season pass, you get 3 mission (And those are really worth it) and 4 aircraft, the rest of the dlcs bring planes that I'm not very interested in, and some skins like "yellow 13"

The season pass includes all extra missions for the game then?

I looked at this game a while back but one of the reviews was complaining about how the season pass didn't include everything.

Am I correct in assuming that more planes were added after the season pass was completed and that's what they're complaining about?

yes, pretty much. People were equating "season pass" with "get all DLC forever." I have not looked at all the packages for a while but last time i did look no single package contained every single DLC. The extra planes can be fun but are not needed. I don't care at all about skins or the in-game music player.

I accidentally bought a key for the top gun DLC and I wouldn't mind giving it away (can't be bothered to try and return it)

The dlc about the alicorn submarine are 100% worth it. The first mission alone has such an ace combat zero vibe.

Absolutely recommend it. It's initially a little more difficult than the main campaign, but you'll get the hang of it.

Gonna unsub cause i ended up getting the deluxe edition (Top gun + season pass)
really enjoyed the game, took me down the rabbit hole of the ace combat franchise.

The season pass is absolutely a must have. The DLC missions are awesome. It actually has a really cool story and they're great missions. Plus the anchorhead raid has the best payout of any mission in the game hands down. If you play it on hard you can get up to 600k in 15 minutes (don't expect that until you've repeated it a few times. your first try will not be easy. best advice, once the UAV's start showing up with massive explosions, RTB and switch to either PLSL or TLS (lasers). You'll understand why later but the mission is mostly ground targets to start, and the finale is against 2 pain in the ass Ace's that you cannot lock onto with your normal missiles, and if you only have regular guns, it'll take a while to kill em both (for me at least but I suck)

AND this is why the DLC planes in the season pass are also so great and an essential buy on top of the DLC missions.

I think the morgan is one I use a lot as it has an MPBM missile. it's basically a cruise missile with a massive blast radius (though not as big as the FAEB, which the other "FALKEN" DLC plane has), and they both have amazing stats otherwise too. The FAEB is an unguided bomb but when you see the blast radius, you won't be worrying about any guidance LMFAO it's massive.

The other DLC plane has the best stats in the game, BUT it doesn't have ground attack special weapons, though it does have the PLSL as its standard guns!!! and it has a TLS special weapon so it should be lethal on that mission too.

Now as far as all the other DLCs? It's up to you. The Top gun DLC has great planes, with great special weapons. The darkstar is unbelievably fast obviously and can even out run enemy missiles LMFAO plus the other 4 planes are great even though they're F 18 and F 14s. The TM editions have stats as good as the best planes in the game. But it is $20

The other DLC's I haven't bought yet but I hear the original aircraft set is great because of the planes it comes with are among the best in the game and have some of the best special weapons.

If you haven't played the game before, special weapons are actually super important. More important than the stats, depending on the mission.

It's not a pay to win game either as the DLC really just gives you a lot more options. None are a necessity or OP. Or no more OP than the top planes in the base game. From what I hear the Strike Wyvern X-02 is still the best plane but I also haven't unlocked it yet at $2 million credits LOL

Nice! So you reckon it's worth snagging the season pass and ignoring the rest? I'm nearly done with the main campaign and I want MORE ace combat! Extra missions sound great, aircrafts are a neat bonus too.
