I'm also kinda new in the MP (only 50 matches) but i learn something recently, if you are in a dogfight and you are behind of someone, don't spam missile, wait until the prey turn in other direction and then shoot, this is even better if you try to understand when they gonna turn to the left or right, if you predict that, the missile don't miss.

Use high speed data link antenna + plus the tier 2 homing upgrade for standard missiles. For some reason stacking these two parts makes standard missiles behave more like QAAMS, they will also circle the enemy a bit if they are slightly off and won't immediately register as a miss.

make sure your using special missles, standard ones should be used as more a distraction tbh to try & make your enemy countermaneuver going into an arc & you chase, timing the firing of your special missles accordingly. also make sure you get the multiplayer missle upgrade parts in the hanger, specifically the homing upgrades are the most important. but most important is practice, i felt the same way just getting ♥♥♥♥ on & maybe getting one or two hits a match for quite a while. its just a dance & one you'll start to pick up untill you can see the moves in your head & act on them. good luck & fly high o7
