Can't get the ace Ronin on mission 4 to spawn again... but I don't have the skin for him?

So I have no trouble staying low and avoiding the radar in mission 4. I spawned Ronin several times before I actually went and shot him down. But once I shot him down, I was interrupted and forced to abort the mission before I finished it.

Now, he will not spawn no matter what I try. I have replayed the mission and gone to free play. I've stayed low over and over. Even destroyed all AA and SAMs before going over 600m. Nothing.

Is this a bug? It's like the game thinks I killed him, because I did. But since I didn't finish the mission on that attempt, it doesn't count?

Anyone else seen this? Or know what to do?

You neeed to complete the part with the radars without going over 200m. Just dive at the start to about 30m and take it slow. When SAMs appear you are free to climb.

I know that's how you spawn him. I spawned him three times before I shot him down. But now I don't have credit for the kill, and he won't spawn again. I'm trying to figure out why.

Very weird. The only reason when Aces should not spawn when spawn condition is met is if the campaign is not complete or if the game is ran on difficulty below Normal. So check if all 20 missions in Free Mission mode are unlocked - maybe the save got botched, and of course be sure to play on Normal or above.

Yeah. I finished the game once and am replaying on Ace. Tried both in the campaign and in free play. Not sure what's up.

Don't know if you ever got him to spawn or not, but I was having trouble as well. My problem was that I was going off of the wiki article on him. According to that he spawns after you get to the space elevator and you're cleared to go above 200m. In my game he didn't spawn until after the first cutscene.
