Is there a way to make multiplayer matches longer than 5 minutes?

I always feel disappointed when im hosting and the match only lasts 5 minutes. Is there a way to make it last longer

Nope. AC8 MP isn't great.
I guess they inherited the idea from ACI, except in ACI it made sense because that was a free to play game and they wanted you to buy fuel to keep playing (which is awful, but it makes sense). Now that we can play as much as we want there's no real point, but they kept it anyway. For no reason.

Is there any particular reason why you want a match to be longer than 5 minutes? 5 minutes is enough to take down some targets, and if you are skilled/lucky enough, you might even be able to earn more than 100000 points and end the match earlier.

Also it's not like the lobby will be dismissed once the match is over, isn't it quite easy to get another match afterwards? I can't see how would a longer match make a better match.

I just want to fly around with someone and practice doing cool maneuvers without having to restart the match every 5 minutes. We tried to a few nights ago but every time we started to get closer to perfecting whatever it was we were trying the match was already ending. I know normal AC MP is faster paced but we just want to fly around for fun and see what we can do, like free flying i guess

That's too bad, seems like you'll either have to tolerate the 5 minute pause, or practice individually in free flight mode then try to sync your performance.

I wonder if it's possible to make a private game mod for this.

It would be cool if AC8 have a mode for cooperative stunt flight.

I think there is such a mod. I've hot-joined a match just now and score was already over 100K for some with ~4 minutes remaining. Once concluded & started again, I'm seeing the timer to be 30 minutes. I didn't see it all the way through but I reckon 5 minutes already elapsed before I left.

I asked the host & they said they'll "send [me] this file for this mod", which they didn't yet, but I see a bunch of results on Google already so I might try finding it myself beforehand.

Just be wary of whatever "penalties" incurred when you leave matches, which will probably occur more with longer matches. I personally don't care for MRP but I wonder if anything else is at risk.

EDIT: I've received the link, but didn't open it, and it's coming from a stranger, and to you I myself am a stranger, sooo, double the "be careful at your own risk"?

Rather than forgot, more like the scarce fragments I've found barely granted any confidence.

Two links I've seen pre-posting, one of which being yours, and both barely have any activity or show-casing, and more importantly they even date prior to OP here.

Aside from how to do the thing, it seemed quite relevant to confirm it's doable, as I've not seen someone say so, who knows why.

So be it if it's a necro, it seems relevant/of interest to previous posters, info consolidation seemed right (I came here via search after all), and hopefully/probably it's not eating into attention from other sides of these boards, however active they are.
