In any case, grats on doing it!
Congrats on your victory! But if anyone else is struggling here, here are a couple of tips:
1. Pitch and yaw, never roll. You have much more fine control this way.
2. Experiment to see how little speed you can get away with in your chosen plane. It may be that you have to max thrust it to get fast enough to climb, but you might not have to hold it the whole time.
3. Don't overcorrect! Unless you're about to crash this exact instant, in which case you're probably a goner regardless, make very gentle course corrections.
So yeah, basically what Rastrelly said, lol. (I didn't read)
Each to their own I guess, but for every plane I use, I always pick the same four body parts:
Cutting-Edge Airbrakes
Variable Cycle Engine
ECU Software Update
Queen's Custom
Then four arms parts, specifically depending on my preferred special weapon for any given mission.
Maybe the four body parts I use help to prevent the stalling in the final climb of mission 20, when just using passive thrust? As other's have said, you really just want to focus on using the yaw controls to steer during the climb, using pitch only where your dorsal or ventral are getting too close to the side. Roll is very dangerous during the climb with the harsh and changing cross-winds. Only go as fast as you have to, more speed just makes the random wind changes even more of a problem.
