On the fuel trucks and sandstorm part, I usually set the map to full. When the trucks flash on radar, I do try to capture their position and close in.
I suggest using a plane that has 4AGMs as one of its special weapons.
Now you're thinking like the devs! Every other mission in this skinner-box is annoying on purpose because they WANT you to buy OP "DLC" planes so that you can cheese them in the hopes that the next mission will actually be fun (it won't.)
If you want a decent game, find one WITHOUT microtransactions like RaidersSphere4th
https://store.steampowered.com/app/340860/RaidersSphere4th/
or Project Wingman.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/895870/Project_Wingman/
Games with microtransactions can be counted on to be bad on purpose to strongarm you into spending more money.
Incorrect, Fomin.
Besides, aside from what I suggested, the Ace Combat subreddit also has their take:

Edit - and another one:

unfortunately, buying a game that is mechanically more obtuse and inherently broken than this one is doesn't constitute a viable solution to the problem at hand (namely: AC7 is unfun)
raiderssphere is equally unfun, with the only consolation being that you have to pay a considerably lower entry fee to experience pure, unadulterated mediocrity
By throwing myself at the mission and failing about 10 times I ended up memorizing the locations of the trucks and hitting them with an f-18 lol. Not the most efficient solution but it worked. Mission 11 was another doozy until I understood the what targets I actually needed to hit. I think it’s the time limits forcing me to rush through what is otherwise fun and engaging gameplay.
Those trucks are extremely slow comparing to aviation vehicles, so when they disappear on the radar for a while, they are not moving far away.
You can switch your radar to maximum range, and pick up each convoy one by one. When the trucks pop up briefly on radar, memorize their position and fly toward that location, fly low and you will be able to lock on them when you are close and low enough.
You can ignore the MQ-99 drones most of the time, they will have a difficult time tracking you down in the sandstorm too.
IMO the only difficult part is a convoy driving in a canyon, which also have some turbulence messing around, just be patient on this one, if your missiles are blocked by the terrain, turn around to get a better position and fire again.
It should be easy once you get the hang of it, on the other hand if you are just flying blindly in the storm, hoping you can catch up a convoy with luck... that's probably not going to work.
The target's aren't planes, just trucks. they won't be able to go very fast.
You can argue that A-10 won't be able to complete the mission as quick as other planes, but A-10's speed is definitely enough to chase up some trucks in time.
OP finished it already so I guess there's not really much point to this discussion though.
Yeah you're right, I'm not saying A-10 is the best choice, it's just...doable.
The only benefit of choosing A-10 is probably the highest UGB ammo capability, that can be quite effective in the first part of the mission, however YF-23 also have UGBs, and only 6 rounds lesser than A-10.
A-10 feels really unimpressive in AC7, even though it's much more faster than the real life counterpart, other planes are just better.
It's slow, it's machine gun isn't more powerful than other planes, it's health is below average, it's special weapon choices are all against ground targets and just have slightly more ammo... which makes sense but not very useful in missions.
It's cost in multiplayer is 1750, too high IMO to make a build for rounds limited under 2000.
Picking this plane is more like giving yourself a challenge honestly.
There isn't any specific target you have to destroy in mission 11, you just have to do enough damage in time, if you are having some difficulties, maybe try using other special weapons, also remember that you can fly back the resupply line to replenish your ammo.
The sea platforms with lots of turrets can be taken down by destroying their core, but the cores can't be targeted at the beginning. You have to either destroy one by manually aiming, or wait for Cyclops Squadron's leader Wiseman to take down one, then the AWACS will mark the cores as targets.
Overall though, the A-10 really should suck. It's bad in reality so it should be bad in the game too. It's not like they can make it fly faster or be good at air combat, because then it wouldn't really be an A-10 anymore. If anything they're already cheating by giving it massive amounts of ammo for its cost. They should make it tougher though, no reason not to do that.
Oh, really? I didn't know that, thanks for telling me.
I totally agree that A-10 should have more health, or maybe significantly increase it's special weapon ammo, so that it would be more useful in certain missions.
It doesn't even have the most amount of 4AGM ammo if comparing to DLC planes.
