Maybe you're using a plane that sucks? If you are you should use a better plane. That's the best advice I can give, and it's not really helpful.
- Learn how to use machine guns. It sucks d*ck, but it has hit range increased drastically (more if use machine gun range upgrade) up to 6,000 feet. 8,000 feet if using Lv.2 upgrade (Requires mod to access MP parts). A plane with just 800 MG ammo or A-10 will have more base damage thanks to Heavy Machine Gun. Planes with 2,400 ammos only comes with Vulcan machine guns, which is very weak. (You can't change machine gun type. This isn't Ace Combat 3).
- Don't worry about running out of STD missiles. You can always replenish it by restart checkpoint. If it hits zero, it'll recover 2 missiles in 10 seconds magically. Not applied to machine gun and SP weapon.
- Bring HPAA for bombers and main blimps on Arsenal Bird. An upgrade to SP homing will do just fine.
- And for the love of God, use Brake Upgrade Lv.1 (Lv.2 if you have to. Mod required). Planes in AC7 suck at airbraking to the point it cause you to crash or miss the target often.
Well, as long as it works.
Half the time, I complain specifically in expectation of this phenomenon.
