Let me just rant about mission 9.

Getting rank S in mission 9 is stupid. The mission is already hard enough to go fast.
-you're mostly flying in cloud, which makes missile nearly useless in speed.
-enemy placement in air is somewhat random.
-ground enemy placement can be absolute ass, sometime in between narrow mountain
-whoever put that turbulence is sadistic. Some place is blowing towards the ground which if you're unfortunate enough to be the time you're descending for a cover you'll die. (Which actually makes no sense, what turbulence blows towards the ground...?)
-apparently there are other factor than the score that involves to get rank S. Some people get rank S with 14k under 11min and still got A.

It's just a game, I need to stop playing it, that's all..

Yeah, this was one of the tougher ones.

I eventually just memorized the whole layout, and had optimized my strategy to within meters of crashing into mountains.

It was a lot of fun though, IMO.

Also, IIRC I used the QAAM and shot down a couple of choppers for extra points.

I honestly hate the lightning in the 2nd phase more. It’s so annoying how if you get hit, not only do you get thrown off course but your radar is just broken for the next few seconds.
It would be better imo if they kept it the way it is rn, but it didn’t keep shutting off

If you're talking about mission 7, that makes sense. OP's talking about mission 9. There's no lightning in the second phase of mission 9.

The one where they have the satellite that launches missiles at you unless you stay under the clouds.

[Lack of Stuff]

Rafale + LACM and maybe lock on range upgrade for special weapons makes that mission a lot easier to S rank but it is definitely one of the more finicky missions to get an S rank for.
