Even if we look past our whining about Ace Combat 7, there's also THE IDOLM@STER: Starlit Season which is already set up to be a failure on PC. In case you don't know, Japanese gamers will default to the PS4 version of the game, and that's also the only version that can be purchased by western importers due to the Steam region locking. Where does that leave the Japan-only Steam release?
I don't know who "you" - in "we" - you are referencing to, but if you are so whiny then stop whining, it's useless.
Ah, a game that is region blocked on half the globe? Well, whose fault is it? And, again, whose fault is the extreme lack of any marketing?
So idiotic decisions made about another game by different team have to somehow bother us in connection to the series that has been pushing multiplatform for two iterations? Even if PA will make this mistake, it will be their loss, not ours. We'll emulate the game for essentially free in ten yers or so. If you lack patience to wait for ten years to play a game - please, go and buy PS5, such people are at high demand at Sony ATM.
Whenever I poke my head into this place, I find that the people playing AC7 on PC always has something to complain about. Hell, the fact that day one reviews were in the "Mostly Negative" category over HOTAS support really has me wondering if we even deserve to have Japanese games on PC.
And honestly, I think I'm gonna support Epic's otherwise underhanded tactics whenever they do exclusivity deals on Japanese games. This includes Square-Enix's Kingdom Hearts series and NEO: The World Ends With You. I feel like Epic bribes will be the only thing that'll tell some Japanese developers to keep making PC games at all at the rate things are going.
PC will always be viewed as a bad platform for Japanese game developers, and the most we can do about this is to adjust our purchasing decisions around this immutable truth. And the whole supporting Epic thing is more of me not caring about how we get PC ports of Japanese games but rather we get those ports in the first place.
I mean, you're not wrong. If they're listening to this board, the only conclusion they can draw is that we hate the game for not being sim enough and not supporting a billion to nine aspect ratios without black bars.
Like this person. This person writes things that are fundamentally malicious and infuriating in nature. I think I'll add people like this to my blocklist.
(also one time he claimed code vein pc was cancelled because people complained about hotas support in the ac7 forum and i still remember it because it was that bizarre)
