Remove Denuvo?
Why doesn't Bamco want my money? All they have to do is remove Denuvo. They don't have to put the game on sale or anything. Just remove Denuvo and I buy it immediately. It's as simple as that.

Yea because the Denuvo is really so good that game was pirated since day 1. Complete waste of money, time and disk space.

Only CDPR seem to grasp that fact. You will never stop piracy and people that don't want to buy will never buy it piracy or not.

In a similar camp. I'd buy this if DENUVO was gone. Prey just removed it, and I picked it right up. A shame it's still in AC7.

Then buy it, if you think you want to support the devs and continue working on new content/game and stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about Denuvo.

That's actually not required by Valve. If you click the link on the right side of the store page to open the EULA for the game, then click anywhere inside the text and then press ctrl+F and type "denuvo" you'll see where it says the game has it.

But it's much simpler just to follow the Steam Curators "Games that hate you" and "Denuvo Games". Then you'll see their notices on the store page and you'll know right away that the game comes with malware.

Yeah your right, they more than know, and still dont care about your money. It doesn't affect gamers, only low end gamers that run potatos, and they only care about their publisher(s) and investors who give them REAL money and gain their trust by using good security software. Its why it keeps on living to this day.

You're small fry.

The decision to use or not use DRM is made by the publisher, not the developers who actually make the game. It's anti-consumer (because it's bloatware), but it makes a few MBA owners happy at the corporate offices because it probably costs less than their projected piracy losses, so they see it as a win/win. Those people are also disconnected from gaming and could just as well be selling toasters for all it would matter to them.

There's a reason companies go out of their way to hide that they're using DENUVO.

Oh for the days of "Insert Original Disk" and random numbers in manuals that might or might not work!

-Exactly what I said but I know the real reasoning behind it which is their investors. Security on a investment is vital.

-Its funny, You people dont complain about actual bloatware and havent for some time, I am starting to think that you guys arnt old enough to know what it really is and are only jumping on the hate train to feel apart of something. - It isn't bloatware, -If you knew the history of anti-piracy you would know exactly why people use Denovo and why No body including myself actually cares.(Even pirates.)

-"those people" are what brought you a game you really want to play and what, millions have already played and are eager for the next DLC. You're not even mad at the hand that feeds you, You're mad cause someone told you to be mad. Which is why you see SOOO many "Grrr Denovo!" articles written by.....You guessed it! "Gamer Nerdz" Ya know the guy that has 2 hours in Dark Souls and plays more games on his phone?

-Nope. They dont say ♥♥♥♥. Games projected sales are made within the first few months, by the time people figure it out, crack/patch it, Games core revenue will have already been made and money from that point onwards is pure profit.

-Lastly, Heres the inside scope from a ex-pirate, No one could have predicted that Denevo and other copy cats would actually work (not with what it was prgrammed for), and Pirates HATE IT no...DESPISE it due to the fact, the Devs IGNORE them. Theres no anti-piracy patches, theres no "New Anti-piracy features" Pirates are litterally being IGNORED into non-existence. The devs slap on some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing, keeps everyone on their side happy, and it gives them the amazing window (Just like box office weekends) to make a majority of their money, and then not GIVE A ♥♥♥♥. and with the best games on the market Solely focusing on Multiplayer, Once good names like NFO,Reloaded and Skidrow are stuck doing this hobby of theirs, cracking DoraTheExplorah Blurays instead of AAA titles and getting the attention they wanted.

And thats EXACTLY why CDPR CRIES "It can be cracked anyways! So-so it shouldnt even be there! It only takes Minutes,Hours, Sometimes Days to crack a game!" No one gives AF. Not the Community and Not the Devs.

I'm still not going to buy a game if it has Denuvo. If the publishers want me to buy the game, they can remove it.

When the ♥♥♥♥ will those "Anti-Denuvo" DUNCE gang die out. Seriously.

If you have a problem with your payment method on a later game purchase, your account will be disabled blocking all your Denuvo games from working. Steam support is notoriously slow to respond so your account may be disabled for weeks or months. Supporting the ability of platforms to disable your entire game library is anti-consumer.
Gamers with COMMON SENSE would never purchase from some fishy websites/services. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Denuvo stops games from supporting Linux or OS X. Not only do the publishers not release ports, but using Denuvo means third parties like the Wine project can't support them either. Games like Inside, the sequel to Limbo, are an example of Denuvo stopping Linux support. Limbo supported Linux and OS X, and Inside is built using Unity engine which can easily make Linux builds. But because they are using Denuvo, it can't be played on any other operating system. Another example is Doom 2016. The beta version worked great on Linux when used with Wine project. But the final release came encumbered with Denuvo, effectively stopping Wine from supporting the game on Linux and OS X. Preventing games from working on other operating systems is anti-consumer.
Linux and Mac OS INITIALLY support a lot less games. Accusing Denuvo exclusively is anything but reasonable or legitimate stetement.
Originally posted by https://whyisdenuvobad.github.io/:
Denuvo games require reactivation if you haven't played them in a while or if you change any of your computer's hardware, and you must authenticate with Denuvo servers every time you receive an update (Simply allowing Steam to update is not enough. You must also open the game once while connected to the internet after each update). They don't require always online, but they do require sometimes online.
Denuvo makes it difficult or impossible to play games without some form of internet connection. Sure lots of people have internet connections, but not everyone does. Requiring an internet connection for offline single-player games is anti-consumer.
If your internet drops without preparing for offline beforehand you can't play your Denuvo crapware.
Somebody will make the main gaming PC, which to run anti-tamper worthy AAA games, offline for a while enough to let Denuvo "locks" the games BECAUSE...?
Originally posted by https://whyisdenuvobad.github.io/:
If at some point in the future any part of their DRM service chain is shut down due to internet outage or a company going bankrupt, games will be inaccessible. Some people reply "but surely these companies will provide a method access if they are shutting down servers!" If a company is in bankruptcy and there's an outcry to get patches out for 15 year old games, I doubt they're going to make it a priority to devote resources and development time to creating patches. It wouldn't be the first time a library of DRM-encumbered crapware went poof. Remember the single-player game Darkspore? It is impossible for anyone to play it anymore. Neither pirates nor customers can play it.
In many cases after an online game has their servers shut down, modders can get the online portion working again by modifying the executable to work with a new master server list. With Denuvo, when EA says the online fun is over that's the end of it because modders won't be able to fix the game. That's anti-consumer.

Yes. You'd just find other games to dig in. So quit it.

Having Denuvo on your games means that if a game comes out that's Oculus Rift only and has strong anti-tamper protections, you'll have no way to ever get it working on other VR platforms. Anti-consumer vendor lock-in.
Ohhhhhh, so this is why PC VR is not coming forever! Just buy PSVR if you are THAT craving for THREE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ missions and some virtual air-show.
Originally posted by https://whyisdenuvobad.github.io/:
Denuvo locks you into your purchase platform for now to eternity. If you purchase a Denuvo game on Steam, you must use Steam forever or abandon your purchases to the wind. If your Steam account gets hacked or locked, your games are gone, because they were never really yours, and you never really even had a copy of them.
You can't make playable back-ups of your games. This isn't helping the consumer.
WHAT. IS. THE. DIFFERENCE. FROM. NON. DENUVO. GAMES. WE. BUY. ON. STEAM. WHICH. STILL. REQUIRE. STEAM. AS. SOME. KIND. OF. PROTECTION.
Originally posted by https://whyisdenuvobad.github.io/:
A large point of Denuvo is to enable vendors and publishers to lock down the functionality of their games and provide them with a simplified means of doing all the bad anti-consumer things they've always wanted to do.
A large point of anti-Denuvo statements is to accuse devs of not letting them modify and pirate the games they could have. PERIOD.

Also please don't start that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "BUT DENUVO MAKE FPS MUCH LESS" shenanigan.
1. Lots of testers have shown there would be 5-10fps difference at most. And most of cases that's 2-4.
2. AC7 is already silk-smooth for a UE4 game.
3. The main content of AC7 is SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN. Even if that were capped in 30, the gameplay will have absolutely NO probs.

"it's only a small performance drop" So yes, it is a performance drop. :rfacepalm:
I will buy the game if they remove Denuvo, until then, i'll find it elsewhere, or maybe play it on PS4 again
