And when you turn up to a big fight, every enemy fighter instantly targets you. Its complete BS.
Ground missiles all the targets on that base and the base that's also to the right from the beginning, at 5 minutes go back to base restock and go up north for that base and hit as much as you can. You can do this without going for the reinforcements but getting a couple helps. Helicopters are easy too.
- ONLY go after air targets if they pester you and are close to you. Do not deliberately go after air targets only.
---> clear one base then move on.
--- the drones are a distraction, they are hard to hit and only worth 350 (I almost always have 1500+ by the time they show up). So only target them if they are annoying you with missiles.
- go to the airfield to your left first The mop up until you to the canyon base to your right.
The best weapon on that level is the UGB.
-4AAM (XAAMs) do okay.
--- everything else is pretty much a waste as they don't kill effeciently enough. 4agms are only good for scattered ground targets. Sometimes there are clusters of planes and helicopters you can bomb.
*set ups I like to use*
F-4E- UGB
Mig-21- MGP (very good against drones and planes up close as the a quick burst will kill them quick)
A-10- UGB
Anything - (X)AAM where X is a number .
Jokes aside, if you find m06 impossible, you are probably thrilled to hear that there are 3 more where you have a mix of timelimit, required score, hefty amount of ground targets and even more flying (and incredibly annoying) enemies. And they are far harder.
If you are more of a "lemme see" guy than someone that goes by the letter ;), if you want I can post you a video example on YT with whatever you have unlocked by now.
Its pretty funny though, as soon as the mob spawn they all immediatly start gunning for me, ignoring all my allies (who are completely useless)
Unfortunately, the "magic"/thrill of the Ace Combat series. It's *always* up to Scarface 1 / Mobius 1 / Razgriz 1 / Galm 1 / Garuda 1 (well, without Allied Attack) / Spare 15 to take out everything and save the day. Even more so in this mission because of you being in a penal squadron. (Plus I think in this mission, most of your squadron is scripted to retreat like cowards?)
Back on-topic, I did this *S-rank on my 2nd playthrough*, on Ace difficulty with the F-35 (it has 8AGM). I went for the airbase, then the farthest base from the return line, went back for a resupply, then took out the nearest base. Then standard missiles on drones (although I didn't take all of them out). Had I more time, I could've resupplied with 4AAM.
On my 1st playthrough, I got a B-rank, with the F/A-18. Same strategy, airbase, farthest base, resupply, then nearest base. Although it was painful to do with the LASM. Try putting on speed upgrades with the A-10 and the 4AGM

I posted the wrong video before.
