Some funny things to think about...
Here's a couple of amusing....well, musings I've had about AC7 (and the series in general):

-when flying a two-seater aircraft, in any of the games, just who is the mysterious co-pilot behind you? Why does no one ever bring them up? Do you both share the identity of the character? Or does everyone just have a mannequin sitting there to mess with peoples heads?

-you ever wonder how in the hell Trigger would be allowed to fly something like an F-22A or F-35C in the penal unit? Where did they even get those? Is Avril just that good of a mechanic she can whip up an X-02S Strike Wyvern from scratch? And why would they give it to the guy with the worst criminal record in the unit? Same goes for if you're flying an aircraft with the EML, TLS or PLSL. Trigger must have friends in high places.

-conversely, what must everyone outside the penal unit think of the player flying an F-104C? Why would Trigger be flying one as a part of Mage Squadron? Were they just short of planes?

-incidentally, I always have a funny thought when flying the F-104C: I'm pretty certain no one survives if they're shot down by that relic. Not because of how 'lethal' it is, but for this simple reason: imagine you're an Erusean ace, pretty big hotshot. You see this plane that looks like it belongs in a museum coming to take on you and your wingmen. You laugh; this is going to be an easy kill. A few minutes later, your plane is on fire, it's rocketing towards the ground and that Starfighter is halfway through eating an allied squadron. Do you eject? Would you be able to find your way back to base and explain to your superiors how you lost to an aircraft with one of the worst safety records in fighter history? There's no way you'd be able to live through that humiliation. Might as well die in a blaze of glory than admit defeat

-I sometimes wonder if the Eruseans have a crippling fear at the sight of an F-22A (despite using them in the second last mission) thanks to Mobius One

-when using Mihaly's Su-30SM skin, I ponder a few things. First of all, I wonder what Mihaly must think of this imitator flying around with his colours. Secondly, after you defeat Mihaly, I wonder how Wit and Seymour must feel about seeing the guy who may have killed their old role model flying around in his plane.

-And let's not even get into flying an X-02S Strike Wyvern against Mihaly's. I like to imagine the only thought going through his head when that happens is '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Belka'.

That's all the crazed ramblings I've got for now. Feel free to share any of your funny or strange thoughts regarding Ace Combat!

The two-seater question always haunts me. Sometimes i just think he's just a really unlucky dude who has to fly with the craziest aces in the force, sweating bullets as soon as you take off.

The true unsung hero. The guy that goes from passing out to screaming within seconds or vice versa due to inhuman Gs.

That actually fits in well with my image of Trigger being a bloodthirsty maniac.

Hope that next time the story in SP campaign could be a story that involved main protagonist and his WSO

I somehow really like the story of US Vietnam War's aces, where pilot and his WSO must work together. Think about the Ace Combat story style that inspired by story of Captains Steve Ritchie and Charles DeBellevue or Lieutenant William Driscoll and Lieutenant Randall Cunningham in the Navy.

But idk how to put single seat such as F-22 in this story setting

Can you imagine the sheer terror from that dude in the mission 14 trench run!!
Him stinking up the cockpit is definitely a high probabillity!

I think that's part of the reason why no one mentions the WSO. Since the player ultimately decides what aircraft their Ace flies, there's no telling if they're going to be a single or two-seater.

Since the player character never says a word anyway (besides Assault Horizon, or the few Yes/No responses you get in 5), it's probably safe to say the WSO never says anything either. Personally, I like to imagine both pilot and WSO ♥♥♥♥-talking during the entire battle while their end of the radio is turned off lol

You can't put much emphasis on the WSO when there are planes that don't have 2 seats that players can and most likely will use. For that to be a thing you would have to lock the player to use certain aircraft during the single player campaign and probably most people wouldn't like that.

As for giving the guy with the worst criminal record the best planes around, it's because he also happens to be vastly superior to all the other pilots combined, if you are the commander of the base and you wanna survive a bombing, complete missions, get recognition from the brass, be promoted, etc. you want to give the best tools to the one who can make actual use of them. Also they mention several times that deserters will be shot down, the worst that can happen is Trigger desert with a single plane, not other place to land or re-fuel or anything and be hunted down like an enemy by the entire OSEAN army.

Sure would like if my F-4 copilot would talk.

I always thought that the first campaign run must be done with the planes and weapons that the game gives you. If everybody is flying F-16 or F-15s, you must fly them also. Would be more inmersive.
