Subjective, people still bought and enjoyed the game.

But, low sales is still the most likely possibility. A less likely possibility is to promote sales of this game when an Ace Combat search is performed. Being a console port, I wouldn't be surprised if it undersold on Steam, as is usually the case with most ports, esp. of the Japanese variety. Then there's all the PC master race elitists upset with lack of VR and HOTAS support swearing off the game, and Denuvo, etc.

A spin off has nothing to do whether a game is good or bad. We shouldn't give AH credit or cut it some slack just because it was a spin off.

This. Spin offs don’t get a free pass just because they’re spin offs. AH wasn’t a bad game in its own right, but it was an awful AC game. It’s closer to games like HAWX.

As for why it was delisted, I have no idea. Didn’t even realise it had been. Seems odd considering that they might have still made some sales after AC7, newcomers maybe wanting more or something.

I am not sure, but I think it's somehow related to mision on apache AH64. It is no longer possible to buy an apache: air assault game from Gaijin, but their older game wings of prey is still selling. At the 1. April 2017 event in War Thunder, apache has changed name to GH64 , so this machine has evidently a stricter license than others.

I dunno. At least I think it wasn't THAT bad, and all of you hate it just for being Ace Combat game and """disgracing""" the series while the devs clearly mentioned AH is not "7", but an experimental spinoff.

I like how this guy just asked a question and it ended up in a fight about how good or bad a game was.
Anyway: I happened not too long ago. Just a few weeks ago actually and it was due to the licensing of the planes used in the game. Those, or atleast some of them, seem to have expired a short while ago. This is also the reason why no Ace Combat fan ever go a digital re-release besides the AC5 Remaster on PS4 and 6 just a few months ago on the 360. Maybe they renewed the stuff they needed for that game, I don't know.

This happens all the time sadly and is the reason why you can't get most old racing games anymore. And with the digital age and dying out physical media it's kinda a race to snap any game you might want to play someday before it's to late.

Mechanically and structurally, I am aware the game is utter crap, but if I look at it as an extremely arcadish game, there's still room for me to enjoy it.

Like, objectively speaking, if I can enjoy Afterburner 2 (Sega/Arcade), then so I can AH.

Despite the realistic setting, AH still features some cool instances, like:
- missile takedown
- special bombs exploding in the air
- that cockpit rescue
- hurricane dofight stage
plus, I think Guts is the best wingman ever. He and Bishop don't annoy me to no end with an anti-war message all over the game. Unfortunately, the game has a stupid villain, second to that edgelord Sulejmany from XX.

Plus, the visuals are still very good.

Anyway, I already own it on a different account, I was wondering if it was discounted for cheap, but then I saw couldn't find it.

The license thing is disheartening because that means I'm likely not gonna get that Zero release I crave so much... Maybe remake the games? 3 and Zero would be so sweet. Maybe the first 2 games too, reimagined since they're basically obsolete.

You can play the older games on PC, though I'm not really allowed to say how in the forums lol. I'd be down to tell you through DMs if you want though.

It doesn't matter, I want them running natively, with wide screen support, achievements, some graphical cleanups.
Those means you speak of stress the PC way too much for what quality the games they run have.
