TM has a software for their other products:
http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/target
you will have to use 3rd party software to simulate the axis of a controller with your stick.
Not sure if your stick is supported by software, best to try it out on a different game.
search other threads for 3rd party software, forgot the name.
I have not gone back to the controller after getting my joystick to work.
(Windows 7, 64 bit)
(And this should work for using the Force feedback 2 with all the games as will be recognized always as an xbox controller)
You will also need to use the keys QWE and ASD but feels natural and even easy, go to preferences of steam (My steam is on spanish so maybe some words are different here) and control config, then Check OK, on Xbox controller and then "define buttons", Leave blank most spaces, but use this:
Main action button 0,
Back button 1,
Terciary action button 2,
Secondary action button 3,
Left stick click 5,
Right click stick button 4,
Shoulder button left hat 8.0 (in the gray mini joystick),
shoulder button right hat 2.0 (in the gray mini joystick),
Axys X right stick: axis 0,
Axys Y right stick: axys 1,
Left trigger button 6,
Right trigger button 7
Maybe this can be improved but is a good start to play :)
if i improve my config i will report it here :) also if you have a better one share it here please.
