Fix for "Fatal Error: Game has Crashed"

My game was crashing all over the place, every few minutes even into Mission 1.

Someone suggested not overclocking my GPU. I thought definitely don't overclock my GPU.... until I realized that it came overclocked from the factory.

Yes, the game is sensitive even to factory overclocks. I downloaded the Gigabyte overclocking utility, downclocked my 1080ti to reference specs, and the game hasn't crashed since.

Note: This does not address specific crashes like the Miission 7 crash, etc. Mine was literally crashing every few minutes at the beginning of the game.

I had the same problem, but the game doesn't crash after downclocking my 1080Ti. Thanks a lot!

I am shocked I had no problems with RTX2080, even heavily overclocked both factory and aftermarket.

Not saying this to brag or anything, new tech you go in expecting not a damn thing to work out of the box lol.

Did you try verifying the game's files? May be a corrupted or missing file if it's crashing at the same spot all the time.

Yes I did and nothing was corrupt. I was able to get through the first mission by changing from borderless to full screen but now it crashes on the 2nd mission. I will try to reinstall

Faced the same issue with the game. Found the event log error as the PC crashed.

The GLCKIO2 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The PC crashes every time while playing for 15 minutes and Graphics card Fans run at high Speed then the PC goes off and remains in off state.

I believe there's something called "frame limiter" in the Options menu solely for capping the FPS to 50.

I set it to 50 since my CPU is always using 100% when unlocked, and has issues like serious input lag, especially during recording. You can take a look at my F-16 walkthrough vids if you like. At the time of recording, the FPS is unlocked, but the video is recorded in 30 FPS.
