Is there a free flight mode?
I had a poke around the menu but couldn't find one.

You can only earn free flight after you have cleared the stage, if I remember correctly. Keep that in mind

Yeah it's per stage/map. Going on the save system you could blast through it on easy mode if you want to unlock all the maps fast I guess?

Yep just checked and I found it. Though it looks like there's no take-off/landing in the free flight, which is disappointing
