Solution to joystick problems:
Go to steam settings, controller, set up controllers, big picture mode will open, select your joystick on the bottom left and then map it up according to the ingame Xbox 360 controller!

doesnt work for hotas as throttles are button not axis based
EpimeTheAus Jan 31, 2019 @ 4:38pm
you need 2 joysticks and 2 throttle sticks to mimic an xbox controller, this advice is ♥♥♥♥.

this is for throttle+stick hotas not just stick, alternatively u can try x360ce and xinput

Technically only 1 Joystick if you don't want camera control.
Or the devs could just have HOTAS support in their flight game.

While your attempts to help are coming from the right place and the intent is not lost on me, as was said before, our sticks are based on axis not buttons. We can't configure them comfortable and frankly we shouldn't have to do this for AN ACE COMBAT GAME of all things.

pitch/roll/yaw/throttlex2/camera so it's not that simple

it would work, if when you didn't bind one side of your control axis, then attempt to change the other one using your other axis and it detects your axis as 1
Antares Jan 31, 2019 @ 4:58pm
my t flight hotas x has 5 axis, throttle, the yaw handle on the back of the throttle and the x,y,z on the stick itself, more than enough for everything if you omit camera controls

On Xbox, pitch, roll is on 1 stick, triggers are thrust/brake, other stick is for camera.
You should be able to technically use your current throttle on an HOTAS to do this, no camera though as it's analog and the hat switch is digital?

I appreciate the suggestion, but after setting up the controls for it, it's just a no go. I know Ace Combat is able to use HOTAS, as I use to own the Ace Combat 6 HOTAS on 360 and there is no way to mimic that control scheme through steam.

Don't get me wrong i expec them to make an official fix especially since the T flight hotas one, X and 4 are practically identical and yet only the hotas one works, but i'm gonna make do with what i have for now

This here says "Official", also states PC.

This is not what it appears to be.
