American Aircraft weaker then the Russian techtree?
I feel like the american planes in this game seem to be weaker/ less fun to fly then the russian/european jets? The whole F15j/c/e are very fast but feel sluggish and limited especially when attacking ground targets. The F18 and F2 are nice aircraft but the ASMs feel kinda limited.
The Eurofighter, while cheaper then the F15E is more maneurverable and can field better ground weapons etc.
Granted the F22 and F35 are great but I felt playing with the russian planes was more fun cause they were so much more maneuverable and their loadouts are more balanced.
Am I missing something about them? Or am I right?

Not really, it just depends on your playstyle. Russian aircraft tend to have better agility, American aircraft have richer armament and more stability. Not sure why you think the Russian planes have better weapons. The F-15C Strike Eagle has the best Armament set in the game, in my opinion. having both the best Air to Ground and Air to Air weapons.

They YF-23 is also a highly underestimated plane, perhaps the easiest aircraft to go "Hitless" in, given its incredible speed, stealth and access to the HVAA and UGB, both of which (in skilled hands) can minimize your exposure to weapon's fire.

Also, the F-2A and F-15J are Japanese, not American.

Sukhui-tree in general is indeed agile, but I wouldn't say that western aircrafts are comparably weaker than eastern ones. F-15C grants you earlier access to PLSL, making it quite viable in first playthrough. Also you can give them more maneuverability by using parts obtainable via spending MRP.

The F15-C eagle does not have air to ground weapons, you mean the F15-E strike eagle which has has those weird cluster bombs and the air to ground laser.
The F15J is produced by Mitsubishi but based upon an american plane and I didnt see a dedicated japanese tech tree in the game, they are included in the "western" tech tree.

Yeah, the E I mean.

The Top tree is the Japanese Tree btw. They are modified American planes, but they are Japanese aircraft. There's only two, the F-2A Viper Zero and the F-15J, but then, how many European jets are there? 4? Mirage, Gripen, Typhoon and Rafale?
American craft are best online imo, better special weapon loadouts if its enabled. Too many SU have meme weapons like HPAA or TLS to be useful.

American Craft = Speed, Russian Craft = Agility.

American Craft = Missile Spam, Russian Craft = Less Missile Spam

ie American aircraft normally are faster, the F-15 and F-22 easily out run Su series of aircraft, easily. Mean while the Su series generally are more agile, but not enough to be a serious difference. So F-15 are just better than the Su series in the game.

On top of that American Aircraft normally get Quick Missiles and 8AAM options, meaning they can spam missiles up the wazoo. The best for the Su series are 4AAM. 8AAM are wasteful at times but you can down a butt load of enemies in the blink of an eye with them in the right scenarios.
