While the EML is pretty good, it's often hard to line up a good shot. I think it's better in Battle Royale where your enemies are more likely to be distracted, otherwise they're probably not going to be flying predictably. That's what makes QAAM, SAAM, SASM, HVAA so good; they're either highly mobile, have splash damage, or fly too fast to react to, and you don't need to be as precise with them.
1. ALWAYS upgrade your EML hitbox. EML has a very tiny and precise hitzone and you need to be deadly accurate with your shots. With the increased hitzone, you get a little more leeway. You might also want to increase your EML power for guaranteed one shots in high level lobbies.
2. Always look for enemies that are really far away and approaching you in a straight line. It's very easy to snipe them right down the middle of their square and one shot them. It's a really cheap tactic but it's also their own fault for not being cautious.
3. ALWAYS upgrade the pitch maneuverability of your plane. You need to take sharp turns using pitch and High-G turns while dogfighting to try and get the enemy in your sights for a moment and accurately fire your EML to obliterate them.
4. This is experimental so don't take my word for it but I'm been trying the STABLE+ part for extended High-G turns and stall resistance. Theoretically, this should further help you take sharper turns long enough for you to get your EML shot in. I can't comment for sure how much this helps though as I haven't properly tested it yet.
The rest is just practice. EML is a completely manually operated but powerful weapon. It's easily top tier in PvP but it needs you to be quite skilled with it. Good luck!
I don't like how being good in multiplayer is so dependent on grinding for better parts.
There would be no point in having parts if they didn't do anything to help your performance. I like it because you have the freedom to build your planes and weapons the way you want. I only stressed the parts required more because that's something that will help you for sure. I can't just teach you how to use EML properly in a comment.
I've seen MANY high spec X-02s with EMLs online that fail miserably because they have the stats but can't use the weapon properly.
