Any advice for mission 6?

Five tries... I only got past the point requirement once with the a-10 then got shot down with 30 or so seconds left (which was more or less the outcome of my next two tries).

Am i doing something wrong or is avoiding enough of the 15-ish planes/drones missile spam (missile...missile...missile...missile...missile...missile...missile...x 15 minutes) pure luck. This is getting frustrating.

is that the one in the desert ? what I do is to start with go to the left base where the planes are, destroy everything and it will give you a radio dialogue, then move to the other place with the bridge and do runs back and forth along that canyon, using the canyon walls to disrupt the sam sites, with the A10 you can do 4 missiles at once make sure to choose optimal target groups,
then immediately after switch to normal missiles, shoot 2 then use guns, so in theory you can get 8 targets in one go, then fly upwards to do a quick turn and shoot another 4 specials and then regain airspeed, you should be able to get almost all your points before the drones even show up.

This mission is pretty easy, fly high, pick your SAMs 1st, go in quick, or use an A10 with auto lock on multi ground missiles.
I think you might be flying to low to ground and getting picked off, some targets cannot be seen at low level as they get hidden, flying from above them does the trick.
You either use speed or height and dive bomb as your advantage.

Focus on aircraft. They are worth more. If you are not shooting at air targets, find where the next air target is go to it with full afterburner and take out some ground targets on the way.

It's a ground mission, you supposed to be taking out SAMs.

It doesn't matter whether you get ground or air targets, they all count towards the score. Like others said make sure to start with the NWmost airfield. Get the three bombers and the handful of fighters trying to take off, as well as as much AA and radar as you can get. Shooting oil tanks near AA is a good way to cheaply get some quick points. I used the F4-E with the unguided bombs. When the drones show up focus on them as they are worth more points. This mission took me 5 or 6 tries but you'll keep getting better every time and eventually nail it.

No, its a SEAD mission, you are supposed to take out enemy air defenses, that includes aircraft.

And that's not the mission, OP is asking for advice, you're making it harder for him.

I did this mission with an F-14.

Focus on the bases, and leave the enemy planes for later.

Destroy the first base, on the southwest corner of the map (close to where you start). Destroy the transport planes on the aforementioned base before they take off, and then you destroy the rest of the base.

Then move north. There's another base there full of things to destroy. Once you destroy most of it, the Arsenal Bird's drone should appear, and then you focus on taking them out, along with the enemy planes.

I advise against moving on the base to the east at first because the canyons there will require you to maneuver a lot more in order to aim your shots correctly. If taking out the drones is proving to be troublesome for you, move on the eastern base instead, but only after destroying the southwest and northern bases.

At least that's how I did it. Other people might have other solutions for this level.

He's right. You'll find that aircraft, especially drones and high-end planes, are very rewarding in points. So you can easily meet score requirements if you focus on aircraft and occasionally pick off ground targets.

In this particular mission, destroying all the drones is an easy way to get a huge boost in points along with the other aircraft that spawn over the furthest (North?) base.

If you're having trouble dealing with the drones in an A-10, try the F-14D, which is much more capable against aircraft. It's what I used on my first try.

I brought an F-14 with Bombs. Mission was easy because I could deal with both Air and Ground units.

Annihilate the base on the left first, then work your way around. Focus on killing SAMs first since they'll cause you the most headaches. When the drones show up, they're worth a good chunk of points, Annihilate them all before moving on to the far right (From where you start) base. If the second wave of drones makes it to you, deal with them, but make sure you've taken out all the SAMs on the ground first.

Seriously: Prioritise those XSAM and SAMs! And any AD trucks you notice too. And any Radar towers too, that'll help in keeping the bases AA game low.

If you pre-ordered, the F-4E has UGB for taking care of ground units.

I would'nt wouldn't focus just missiles on the drones later on in the mission, but machine gun too if you can get a good enough lock on, 720p

Unless you're insisting on using the A-10, I'd use something else, as others have suggested.

SU-34 with 4AGM. That plane is agile enough to dogfight despite being labelled as "Attacker". Doable with A-10 too with the 4AGM, hit the deck and destroy everything on the ground: And while flying low, make use of the machine gun.

There's plenty of missiles, but most of the time just rolling or "high-G turn" when the beeping gets faster makes them miss. Also there's upgrades for increased health and lowered enemy missile accuracy in the tree.

Also remember (for this and an upcoming mission), fuel tank explosions also blow up targets next to them.
