Developer Request: Autopilot
Just in case the other threrad gets buried.

Please Project Aces, either add an option for the incoming patch to disable/enable autopilot (pad controllers when pressing r2+l2); use the Zero and AC6 fix (why didn't you do this anyway), or at the very elast allow us to assign it to any other key that is not pressing l2-r2 (to a digitalkey for example where this thing can no longer be that annoying, like in ac4).

And yes, I'm the same guy who by the days of ac5 release requested this very same thing day and night in yourt old Namco fora. Actually, I didn't have the opportunity for giving you thanks since I very well assumed the autopilot fix in zero and ac6 was all thanks to my persistence (you knew you had screwed it in ac5, that's why you changed it right). But why didn't you do the same now in ac7?, do you know how annoying this pointless autopilot thing can get whe you are trying to gun other planes down as you use the yaw inputs while maneuvering?

Also, an option to fix that third person camera view displacement when also using yaw will be really appreciated too. It's just that disorienting, and also messes things up when trying to gun other planes, plus combined with the autopilot nightmare kicking in a lot can make pursuing and machine-gunning other planes too frutrating.

Remember, allow us to either turn autopilot off or assign it to another pad button in the patch. It will be just that easy for you, and soo great for us.

Thanks in advance.

I agree and could we have flare on a single left click. I am always switching views by mistake
Shin Feb 4, 2019 @ 12:14am
Autopilot is already in the game, if you are using an xbox controller then hold down the left and right bumper (or on any other input then hold down both buttons for yaw)

Thanks for not even caring to read the topic. Precisely, I know too well where the what input the autopilot thing is assigned to...

Ok, one; bumping a thread is against Steam forums rules so watch out for that. And two; as far as i remember autopilot has always been both yaw buttons at the same time so what fix are you talking about? Is it conflicting with something that you are trying to do or is it just unintuitive for you or what?

Also I agree with the flares being weird but i'm still in the habit of forgetting i have flares until after i get shot down so i don't notice too much especially since you get less flares the higher tier aircraft you use so yeah its weird.

And lastly this is not the devs forum and they likely don't monitor it and they certainly are not moderating it so you may want to post this somewhere they are more likely to see it.

G'day mate.

He is already aware of this, if you read the thread he's asking for an option to turn this on/off or to at very least assign it to different buttons

He did say "fix" in ac0 and 6 but the controls were the same. Also don't hit them both at the same time. Full controller rebinding would be cool for sure but like i have never autopiloted on accident and i'm still not sure how you do it on accident. Also there is still the point of i really don't think Bamco is on these forums at all except to maybe post news things. So he is probably barking up the wrong tree here.

See?, you don't even know what you're talking about.

lol just get out of here, please.

Thanks for bump anyway. The sooner devs acknowledge how nightmarish the autopilot crap can get, the better. In any case it is still beyond me why on Earth didn't they continue with the zero and ac6 six for this to avoid the accidental autopilot inputs.

Thats not autopilot, it's auto level, it only brings you back paralel with the horizon.

true autopilot the plane flies itself to a pre programed destination.

yeah i remember on AC4 autopilot was very easy now i just press LB/RB at the same time it's more difficult to do another thing x)

+ they should change Flare because the click at the same time on the 2 stick can switch view by mistake panic :p

Bumping your own topic is not allowed due the guidelines and they CAN ban you for that.Just saying cause i saw you bumping your Topics. Also if you want to reach out to Project Aces write them an Email .... the Devs wont read this here.
cikame Feb 6, 2019 @ 9:46am
I'm assuming you want the option to turn it off because you keep accidentally doing it?
I haven't done it once, forgot it even existed but might be useful in clouds, but you should totally be able to turn it off if you don't want it or are, for some reason, using both directions of rudder at the same time.
