Alicorn: Probably the Best Boss Fight in the Entire Franchise.
I have never thought I would ever come to find an opponent in Ace Combat 'actually hard' without cheating. Now I'm sad it's over and that we are gonna have to wait a few years at least until the next game comes out.

Regarding AC3... I think they might remaster AC3 in near future, seeing how Jaeger in AC7 keeps talking about his son, Erich Jaeger, who is a main character in AC3. So Jaeger tells his son about Trigger which makes him join the Air Force... I don't think they've just put Jaeger in their to please the fans.

AC3 has got most definitely the best story in all AC games, with a branching campaign and multiple endings. And oh my God, what a twist in the end. Very excited for the future of this franchise.
He doesn't join the air force. There is no government in AC3's Usea, he joins an organization responsible for preventing and mediating conflicts, which namely are between 2 companies in the game. I don't think that's enough reason to expect a remaster, we have gone through this several times in this forum already, AC3 wasn't a hit, if they will remaster anything, it will be a successful entry.

Also the games' AI always was ♥♥♥♥. Maybe it felt harder decades ago for us because we were younger.

omg hadn't realized about that. That was a good one man, kudos.

Too bad then about the fate of his son hehh. He does not survive in any of the five possible paths, not even in the general resource one hahah, where he dies with glory crashing to Dision and destrying him. The canon ending should be either the upeo or neucom-cynthia one (where we see Simon unvealing us that we are an AI, before purging us), and he pretty much dies in those too lol). Will it be the events of ac3 a simulation then, or is this in preparation for a reckoning of that in a hypothetical second chapter to ac3. If I recall well, we were an AI designed to eliminate the subliminated Dision AI, and the events of that game simulated for mere evaluation of the effectiveness of such AI, us, Nemo
He doesn't really die in any of the endings. If you choose Cynthia's path, for example, there is a news cut scene where it is informed a bunch of people died in an attack at Neucom's headquarters and Fiona is among the victims along with the Neucom AWACS and some random person, so that's an example of a character that dies even when we don't fight them.

While with Erich we simply don't hear from him anymore in the Neucom, GR, Cynthia and Ouroboros endings. In the UPEO ending he survives along with Rena. Erich finds her crashed night raven in the ocean, which she is standing on top of, while she calls to them and they circle around.

The one who crashes onto Dision is Keith, not Erich.

So while Erich is the most mediocre of pilots in the game, he's the one that never actually dies.
Uh if I remember correctly the whole damn AC3 is but a simulation, nobody actually died. Perhaps there's no war to begin with even.

Don't do that. It's silly.

You are welcome!
Though I think Erich survives in at least one of the endings. This one.

Also, I've understood the story of AC3 slightly differently - all endings are canon, because they are all possible outcomes for what could happen if Simon releases Nemo into that conflict. :D

A pessimist, eh? I for one liked AC3 very much, but the cyberpunk-inspired ost and futuristic planes felt very strange and way too experimental. But that game has a huge potential to be a mega hit if remastered correctly.

I said air force to prevent spoilers... because fans of AC3 would get what I meant. Thanks for walking all over the crisp, white sheets of my bed that I had just made :)

Also, I disagree that the AI was always ♥♥♥♥. The flight AI in AC7 feels more aimless and artificial than in the last few entries. i think they have toned it down to make the game easier.

I'm not a pessimist. AC3 is my favorite but the game simply isn't for most of the fans, it's just the reality. It was a failure back then because it didn't review that well and didn't sell as much as they expect it to. Talks about remakes and remasters have been made with Kono thoughout the years and he's always saying "yeah, idk, it's gonna be hard cause there all this stuff, we could do that with AC4, 5 and Zero TOGETHER for the same cost..." which heavily implies a big NO. Especially when AC 4 and 5 were very well received at the time, unlike Electrosphere.

Just teasing you. I'll keep my hopes up high that Kono has got something interesting planned for the future of the franchise since he's brought back Erich Jaeger into the picture. :)

I think it's just some service for the fans. There are more AC3 references and bridges in AC7 like one of Schroder's assistants is named Martha, which is Yoko's middle name and his other assistant is heavily implied to be Simon himself. In the Aces at War 2019 book there is an image where it shows both his assistants and they look exactly like the two. In Simon's bio it is said he worked with AI since he was young so it's only natural to assume he's the guy working with the cutting edge drone tech of AC7's timeline, especially when he resembles a lot the guy in the picture and also is already acquinted with Yoko, which he developed feelings for.

General Resource is very closely related with the whole Alicorn incident. Recently they released another section of deeper lore in their website and it's about the Alicorn. There it mentions how GR is working in the process to scrap the Alicorn and how apparently everyone is dancing to their tune in the end.

It's not the first time there is a connection between AC3 and another entry of the franchise. Even if they don't explore more of AC3 in the future (which I think they won't, they will probably move away from Usea), they are at least connecting that game with the series.
