I also believe the scenario of that story is ripe for using in an Ace Combat game. To be more precise, that kind of scenario concept would fit very well with one of the continents we onlly heard of in the story before, someone suggested in another thread regarding a future game for it to be a story in the 80's and I believe Area 88 would fit perfectly with that.
♥♥♥♥ english dub though, lol.
I think it would be cool if they actually acquire the license and made a full-on Area 88 game set in the Kingdom of Aslan. I haven't read the entire manga as they never actually finished the english translation, but i hear that later on there is a mission involving a land-based aircraft carrier that launches UAVs, which is just the sort of ridiculous thing i would expect from an Ace Combat game (if it hasn't been done already. I've only been with the series since AC6 and haven't played all the games).
Also, i just really want to be able to fly an F-8 Crusader with flaming unicorn tail art.
I don't think that would work. Flying around in open space isn't the sort of game that Project Aces is known for.
Area88 is a perfect match for Ace combat, but it if they going to do it they should take more creative design on even the 'real' jets.
I also been searching the internet for a long time for someone to produce this. ArmA, DCS, or anything else. I think strike fighters 2 mercenary mode is the only game that comes close enough to this. As you have to pay for aircraft, crew, and armament. You earn money through missions and what you did in the mission. But is missing the maintenance and money management feel to it for me as well as it is a old game but I thought was still good.
And AC already is heavily inspired by Area 88. I rather want more original lore of Strangereal.
I think of it as "a ninja is replacing the pilot to fly a fighter jet." I want that unique storytelling, not just a fan fiction of "Boruto flies for the Osean Air Force".
Out of curiosity, I once watched the anime version of Ace Combat trailers from Tiger Gaming channel. Never heard that this game is inspired by A88, yet even watching what kind of "classic anime" it is (despite being a big fan of Naruto and Boruto myself with aviation interests). I mean, what's so special about it? Is it like how Yukikaze is inspired (I watched some episodes on cable TV long ago)?
