PC Crash and reboots when Mission 1 replay starts
Can't say I've experienced this before.. but this game literally forces a reboot on my PC a few seconds after the replay of mission 1 starts. I've never had a crash on this PC ever, with any game. Any ideas?

Specs:

i7 6700k 4.2ghz
Gigabyte Z270N-WIFI
2080ti FE - 431.36 drivers
16GB Corsair DDR4
Win 10 pro

What you describe is usually one of two things, heat shut down, a thermal guard system in your PC shut it down, or, software error in the sense that a bit of RAM, memory was attempted access and failed for whatever reason, that will blue screen your PC every time.

You can go to your search bar bottom left and type in, ''windows event log'' and take a look at the specific time you launched the game and what the crash report states, this should give you a code to look up, for example, code 604 power failure, or what ever it might be, should give you a clue to whats going on and if its a heat spike issue, it should become really obvious, as Windows should report that in this log.

Good luck.

in control panel, go to security and maintenance, under maintenance, look at reliability report. its an easier way than event log to find out what caused it. if you find the error in ace combat and select it and then 'view technical details' there may be a code like 0x00000c5 (thats an example code not a real one) and 'faulting module something.dll.

you can google both those, ignore any websites that are named 'download something.dll' or 'how to fix 0x00000c5 error' because those are scams . look for the help threads to find out what the error code means. googling the name will tell you what crashed.

as example, i had a really difficult to diagnose problem where ism.dll would be the faulting module, but it said it was intel integrated graphics.
the program that crashed was dwm.exe - desktop windows manager. the problem was i would be playing a game, and suddenly it would go window mode, or just CTD. it also went from running on the gpu to running on the integrated graphics if it was still running at all..

my issue was actually the new xbox series x controller i was using, was crashing Desktop Windows Manager. because the controller firmware needed an update.

i found this out when the methods above did not produce any help. but i saw a reddit thread about it, and since i updated controller firmware using xbox accessories app, it hasnt re-occured. reddit might help if all else fails.

i mention the controller thing because its a remote chance thats crashing DWM which then dumps the game into the integrated gpu which might not be able to handle it and crashed to desktop. i doubt its the controller but you never know, and many people would never know to work it out

Well to keep this updated, I RMA'ed my GPU and knowing what's going on today with the global GPU shortage, it will take 2 months (According to the distributor) to replace my GPU so I don't have any option but just to wait it out. Thank you so much for the responses!
