Help Needed With Getting Controllers To Be Found By Steam!
Hello People,
Having trouble getting steam to see my Thrustmaster Warthog and Saitek Pro Pedals. They do not under Settings just says no controllers found.

The controllers all show in Windows 10 device list. So as a result I cannot use my controllers properly for Ace Combat 7 PC.

Any help on this please? I would be extremely grateful for.

Hope to see you all someday in the skies!!!

Thanks

I'm not sure if steam needs to recognize your device, it will be enough if the game itself recognizes it.

Use this setting and test if the joystick works in the game itself.

Right click at game name in your steam games list, go to Properties, at the bottom of the window there should be something like Steam Input per game setting, try changing it to Forced Off

and then set the pedals in the file

Hello Mate
Sorry for the late reply.
I cannot find any files on the game in steam only shortcuts to start the game.
Serach for the game files brings up this, C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Steam

But that is only the shortcut to the game, no files!. I am really confused. Maybe you can help.
By the way the thrustmaster warthog works fine just need to use Target to remap buttons. But the Saitek flight rudder pedals I cannot get to work. Annoying to say the least.Thanks

As far as I'm aware only Thrustmaster Warthog is compatible, Saitek rudder pedals shouldn't be, but check the official list on the store page of the game as I'm not too sure, if it's not on the list then you may need a third party software like x360ce

AppData is hidden folder , so use google to find how to show hidden folder in your type of windows.

Did you already use TARGET or you just want to do in future? I am not sure if it will work if you don't edit input.ini file.

If you want remap buttons is better to do it in input.ini file.

Hello People,

Thanks for the replies. Warthog works just fine plug and play like you Dandy.
Lubomart thanks for the help. I have done the same for Cod 4 many time editing config files so I should have remebered the folders may be hidden so will try and hopefully manage to get it open later, But F1 2019 see my rudder pedals. The Devs for this game really need to sort it out. Sick and tired of buying games like BF1 , amazing game with loads of update and script problems when you play online. The comapnies get our full money amount they asked from us for the game and we get short changed with the final end product of the game. Really has to stop in my opinion. Oh well rant over lol. Thanks again people

Hello again people,

Lubomart I have good news!! I think I found the file we were looking for. Simply typing in %localappdata% with nothing else brought me to all files for my steam games! And guess what as you said pedals show up there!! Here is that part below. Warthog also shows up in here by the way but we are just trying to get these frigging pedals to work with the game so I do not have to fly with the noobie settings and I can get used to flying with the pedals for the 1st time ever!

The game has no wheel brakes so all you can set is Yaw.

Flight_Yaw=

You need to find out what it's called rudder axes on your pedals.
You can use Device Analyzer in TARGET script editor for that.
When you click on the wheel in the upper left corner, you can choose which joystick to display.
Choose Flight rudder Pedal. You see the axes values and what one is called. (X,Y,Z,Rx,Ry ...).

Then in input.ini just set which axis controls yaw.
For example
Flight_Yaw=Rz

If necessary, invert the axis. Add :R
Flight_Yaw=Rz:R

Hi Lubomart
I cannot find that because in the settings I have currently Yaw is a keyboard setting, Q And E. The pitch and roll are set in the Warthog commands in the ini file but nothing is set for Yaw.
In the Flight rudder software you have to set the Left Toe and Right Toe as well as the Rudder with the options of these following commands ... Fall Back (set to default for all), Bands, Directional Axis, Mouse X, Mouse Y. The settings on the keyboard for Yaw are Q amd E.

Flight_Pitch is Y:R
Flight_Roll is X

So I am hoping you may be able to tell me from the info I have given what the axis letter would be and also what you think I should put for left and Right Toe settings?

Thanks Buddy.

I have no idea how works the Flight rudder software, but I think it is not needed now.
Just set in the ini file under
ProductName=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
Flight_Yaw=Rz
or Ry or Rx or X or Y or Z
I don't know which axis belongs to yaw on these pedals. Either try all the options one by one, or look at the Device Analyzer as I wrote last.

Edit/
If the pedals dont work without the Flight rudder software, then the "Directional Axis" looks like the best option.

Hello Lubomart,
I come with good news! I used your advice with Target analyzer and got the value Rz. So turned off the software for the pedals and it finally worked.

I want to thank you for excellent help and patience throughout. I really appreciate it. Top Man! Owe ya 1:. Now as I said to you before I have to learn how to fly on Expert Mode before I think about delving into the online world. At that stage my friend I hope to see you online in the sky Cheers Buddy! steamhappy:

I don't play multiplayer much, so I guess we won't meet there. But I'm glad those pedals work.

Hi, I need help as to how to setup my Pro Flight Rudder Pedals after reading your last post above. I have changed the input.ini Flight_Yaw=Rz and unprogrammed the pedals through the profile editor but it did nothing. The pedals are responding like pitch and roll and the rudder is responding as camera view. I am not sure whether you had this similar problem compared to me? I will be very keen to know as to how you were able to solved your issue. FYI, I am also using X56 Rhino Pro Flight Stick on my setup. Thank you and hope you have good advice for me.

It works perfectly with Rz:R for the Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, thanks :)
