T.16000M FCS HOTAS
I just started playing Ace Combat 7 and I saw an article that said the Season Pass enabled more stick and throttle combinations.

https://www.pcinvasion.com/thrustmaster-joysticks-now-compatible-with-ace-combat-7/

I have a T.16000M FCS HOTAS so I bought the Season Pass (as well as all the other DLC stuff) and installed it, but there is nothing different in the game, it still shows a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X.

What's going on?

Right click at game name in your steam games list, go to Properties, at the bottom of the window there should be something like Steam Input per game setting, try changing it to Forced Off

There is no difference in the game menu. No matter what joystick you have, it still shows hotas 4.

If you want change buttons preset you can do it in
c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment\ACE COMBAT 7\Config\Input.ini

That’s just what I needed, thanks!

I took a look at the ini file and I don’t think what I want to do is possible. What I want to do is map the throttle on the little slider on the stick onto a couple of buttons or a slider or an axis on the throttle. It appears that as things are now this is something that just can’t be done. The throttle on the stick is like a throttle trim setting and has a huge influence on the throttle, but It’s in a bad spot because I have to take my hand off the stick to use it.

I am not sure if i understand what you want. You can map the Throttle on two buttons this way:
Flight_Throttle=Button5+Button6:R
But if you have HOTAS i think is best option control throttle with main axis on TWCS Throttle. So all you need to do is under T16000M set up Flight_Throttle to empty
Flight_Throttle=
so they don't interfere with each other.

What does the :R do that's on Button6?

Button5 Throttle up, Button6:R (reverse) throttle down/brake.

The situation is, my plane accelerates fastest when the slider on the stick is all the way forward. If I throttle down and slide the slider on the stick back at some point before the end the brakes will open. If I leave the slider there the plane does not accelerate as fast when I throttle up.

Yes, if the game has multiple inputs for one function, then make it average. So if you have a TWCS throttle at 100% and a slider at T16000M at -100%, the resulting traction is at 50%. So for proper throttle functionality on TWCS you have to have a slider on the T16000M exactly in the middle, or as I already wrote set in the input.ini section under T16000M
Flight_Throttle =
this will disable the slider on the T16000M and the traction will only be controlled by the TWCS throttle.

I mapped accelerate to the space bar on my keyboard so if I need to accelerate I hold it down. It works, but it's awkward. I was thinking about maybe mapping the throttle slider on the stick to button 3 on the stick, which is currently weapon select.

It would read, “Flight_Throttle=Button3” to give me an acceleration button on the stick and put the weapon select button somewhere on the throttle.

Would that work or would I need to make it two buttons like, “Flight_Throttle=Button3+Button4:R” ?

If I put the slider exactly in the middle then I have no air brakes. The brakes open about ¾ of the way back on the stick slider.

So you have to get the dlc to be able to use the T16000m and it works ok without having to ♥♥♥♥ about?

I bought the base game about a month ago and my stick and throttle worked then. I bought the season pass and all the other DLC about a week ago and nothing has changed so my stick and throttle worked both with and without the DLC.

Thank you so much. I couldn't use my Hotas T16000M until I read this.
