Chaos Daemons too strong?
I think the balance before the new add on was good. The new demons however seem way too strong. Go ahead, call me a bad player, but I'm just leaving this here. I would appreciate if the power level of some units would be turned down a little bit. Cheers.

First of all, I think you are right. Some units are stronger than their cost implies (i'm looking at you, soul grinders!!!), or so I think.
However, i do think chaos demons require entire different tactics to handle than any other factions, and on this point, we, players, should learn to play against them before any nerf happens.
Chaos has plenty of flaws of its own. It is the strongest faction in melee (even before orks, which have to rely more on their ranged dakka against them!), but they have few ranged units, no transports, and no artillery. Their flying units do not compare to the other factions either.

But, yeah, soulgrinders are OP, and if a player picks 5 soulgrinders + 1 lord of skull in MP, well,... good luck for winning that one ;)

soul grinders lose against deff dreds if you compare point costs. same for thunder hammer terminators. they are damage soakers, not dealers primarly.

Maybe Fosil, but Deff dreds don't have ranged attacks nor can you deploy 4 in the same game. Plus, Deff dreds are quite easily destroyed if hit in the back, soulgrinders not so much. Thunder hammer termies don't have ranged attacks and are not half as resilient as deff dreds.
You say they are damage soakers - which is totally right - but i experienced in my games that they are often the chaos main damage dealers too.
And did I mention the soulgrinder's passives ? 15% evasion rate or moral + lifesteal on sprite kill in close combat ? That is worth some more points, in my opinion.

deff dread 450hp 95 90/70/40 armor vs hammer terminators 640hp 92 70/60/60.

the harvester cannon is roughly equivalent to one big shoota. its okay against low hp infantry targets (long fangs for example), but for 500 points you need to get into melee to use the warp claw or you are wasting points. heralds of tzeentch and the low-tier daemon infantry (daemonettes, plaguebearers, pink horrors and especially bloodletters) are your point efficient damage dealers. you can have three units of bloodletters for 500 points and each unit has up to three attacks instead of two per action with nearly the same weapon stats.

I really just wanted to start a discussion. I can see how Daemons want to work, and I think it's great. It's just all too much. They are a no-brainer. All othe factions need practice and tactics to be successful. With Daemons you just go in and kill everything. Youo need to know what to kill first, okay, but that is really the only tactic required to play them. Not whining, just wanting to give feedback which can be used to make the game better.
