I know I'm in the minority who watches anime only with english dubs, but I'm sorry, I cant stand that every single female in anime sounds like an asian porn actress and every guy sounds like Ryu from Street Fighter
You SHOULD watch the 1997 anime though.. With English dubs of course.. ;)
I'm not asking to chase down the same VA's from 22 years ago, but is this game not popular enough to warrant some kind of english voiceover?
The current sale is nice enough, but the game doesn't promise to be THAT good to make it worth listening to japanese voice acting.
The anime stops at the eclipse. The only berserk medium worth dealing with is the manga.
I did buy the newer 3D looking blue-ray Berserk movies... Just haven't gotten around to watching them b/c I'm afraid it's worse. Or they broke it in some way like with only Japanese voices or different English dub voices. Plus I don't want to scar my children lol. And OMG I agree guys entirely! the 1997 series was absolutely amazing.
Those 3 movies aren't bad. English voices are good. It's major flaw is, the 3D assets are often stiff and merge poorly with the drawn stuff, so sometimes it looks awkward. Some other times, you get to see some of the legendary fight scenes in way more detail than in the older show, so I'd say it's worth it. Cuts out a lot of the story bc those 3 movies cover the same arc as the old series.
I'd say you won't be disappointed if you watch them when the kids aren't around.
What comes after.... The 2016-17 tv show. Now THAT is horrid.
Well I kinda like the Dreamcast game, it had some flaws and was frustrating, but not bad (morevoer the story was made by Miura himself). The PS2 game was a bit too bland for me, not bad but I couldn't enjoy it like the DC game. This new game is not perfect either, probably not as good as the DC game, but it's more enjoyable than the PS2 game, it has more blood, decent graphics, more playable characters...Overall it was fun.
