Mafia 2 Door Stuck!

My house just got burnt down and after arriving at Joe's we're trying to leave except the door is closed and it cannot be opened. Joe just walks face first into the door without moving it. I've restarted the mission and the same bug still happens.

How the hell do I get around this?

I think you have to back off, and let Joe open the door.

I know this is very old, but if this happens, retry the mission, get back to Joe's and then go through the front door (the one that opens towards the street) not the door that goes near the garage. When you do that, it seems to work.

This is still in the game 4 years later... disappointing.
