ayuda, no inicia mi L4D1, me aparece el siguiente mensaje.

Anteriormente lo hice (tengo amd) pero me pedía pagar después de una prueba gratis y ya después tube q cancelar, ns muy bien como es eso de actualizar los drivers, lo único que se es q tengo que instalar por medio del sitio oficial de amd y buscar el coso de actualizar drivers

Right-click on the game in your library, go to Properties –> General –> Set Launch Options, and enter the following command based on your monitor's resolution as an example:
-w 1024 -h 768 (my resolution as an example).

If your screen resolution is 1280x1024, then you should enter: -w 1280 -h 1024

Also, in the same Launch Options, you can uncheck "Use Desktop Game Theater while SteamVR is active" this can be disabled for any game since it's a useless feature.

I figured out how to fix the D3D error:
1. right click left 4 dead and go to properties
2. click on general and go to launch options
3. in the launch options, copy this code here: -windowed
4. exit out of properties and load the game.

Descubrí cómo solucionar el error de D3D:
Haz clic derecho en Left 4 Dead y ve a Propiedades.
Haz clic en General y ve a Opciones de inicio.
En las opciones de inicio, copia este código aquí: -windowed.
Sal de Propiedades y carga el juego.

doesnt work. i just installed a more powerful and brand new graphics card yesterday and since then a few of my games simply wont launch anymore and they give me similar error messages too. and yes the drivers are up to date aswell
