Winning achievement 'Smash Hit' done wrong?

My friend and I were hunting for achievements together and picked this one to do. So I was hosting a local server with only him and I in it. he killed the survivor bots when he was survivor and let me killed him. And I would do the chapter without him ever respawning. I didn't escape the finally, I let him kill me and the survivors as a tank with a car to help him work on another achievement. In the end, I didn't get the 'Smash Hit' achievement. What did I do wrong here to not get it, I got more points obviously. What did I do wrong?

It's been a long time since I've ever played this game. But from what I've seen about this achievement, this bug.

Yep, as much as it is 2020 and it is still not improved (thanks Valve). To unlock the achievement, you have to do the opposite. Instead of winning a game versus Crash Course, you have to lose. It sounds crazy. But this is how the damn glitch works.
