This happens alot, I recomend you go get CCleaner and Game booster
With CCleaner, turn off all of the autorun proccess from the options tab, you can activate the ones you want (Like steam and Gamebooster)
Restart your computer to take effect of the autorun diffrences.
With Gamebooster, its pretty self explanitory. Itll boost your game automaticly when you enter a fullscreen anything, or keystroke Ctrl Alt B.
This will help your computer run the game.
If none of this works, I recomend you just uninstall the game and re-try, it may be a corrupted download. It happens. The easiest way on going about doing this is:
Go to the directory of your game: Most likely in C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[YOURNAME] or C:/Programs/~~~/Steamapps/common/
Find the folder that says Half life Opposing Force and rename the folder.
Restart steam.
Run the game, it should reaccumilate the game from the GCF and verify. Still doesnt work?
Copy from what I just said and rename the folder again, and go back into Steamapps and rename the GCF file.
Now steam will completly re-download the game from scratch.
STILL DOESNTWORK?
It happens. Steam does be retarded from time to time, possibly a good Registery clean would be nice, go back into CCleaner and clean up the registery a bit.
You may or may not have to re-install steam at this point. This will be the tie breaker.
Close Steam
You into your C:/Program Files/Steam and delete your clientregistery.blob
Start steam.
Still doesnt work? Sorry to say, but from all the troubleshooting, This only indicates that your steam is corrupted, or the registery within your computer is corrupted for steam. This possibly indicates that you may have to re-install Windows. I re-install Windows every 6 months. I only back up my pre-loaded games from steam and my firefox cookies. And I dump everything else. Clean new slate, works everytime.
I hope for the best.
Herp, He just said he got the game.
