Is it just me or is HL:OF really difficult?

I realize that I have lost a lot of my mental and coordination skills since the 90's but it seems to me like HL:OF (which I am just getting around to playing right now) is particularly brutal. Or have I just gotten soft in my old age?

EDT: I am playing on "Normal" difficulty.

If you are new to it then it's not surprising. It is known to be possibly the hardest half-life game after all. You will get around it over time though

It is not just you - ive found this difficult as well - I tried playing it on hard once and on my goodness was it difficult...

For me it's the Voltigore nest and possibly the entirety of Foxtrot Uniform.

In general it seemed to be that the aliens hit really hard and there wasn't a lot of health and power ups around. Figuring out the puzzles while getting continually pounded on was a challenge as well, that I don't quite recall from Half Life or Blue Shift.

Surprisingly, I thought the final boss was the easiest part of the game :)

As for actual chapters I found difficult, definitely Foxtrot Uniform (i.e. FU)

It's arguably the most difficult Half-Life game. I've always found the original HL to be harder but that's just me. OpFor has harder enemies but you do get moire powerful weapons to combat them.
