How to get the uncut version?

I live in Austria so I have the german version of this game. The problem is that the german version is cut in a nearly humilating way. There is no gore at all and defeated enemies sit on the ground. I really wanted to play through all Half-Life games, but I can't play this game in this state. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? Please help me.

perhaps u could play "Half Life Restored" it's a mod which use cut enemies, sequences, also the NPCs have better textures, something else, there's the original Valve's intro, try it if u want

I thought only Germany and Australia used to censor violence in videogames so much.

afaik valve has pulled the cut versions from steam, and installing the game today should give you the uncut version. maybe try contacting steam support about that, that worked for me.

Nopey. I'm a German aswell, just installed this a few days ago. It's also happening to me. I don't mind though.

If they're supposed to have pulled the censored version then it could just be an error. I received a German copy of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, I contacted Steam support and they changed it to the uncensored version for me. No idea if this will work for you but it could be worth a try?

Wenn du über Steam die Sprache auf Englisch stellst, sterben die Forscher etc. richtig, anstatt sich hinzusetzen. Blut ist aber nicht dabei...

Hab schon rausgefunden wie es geht. Eben auf Englisch umstellen. Man kriegt Bluteffekte, wenn man die Inhaltssperre aktiviert und dann wieder deaktiviert.

If you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\gearbox_german
and delete the models folder you can get the uncut experience, you have to do the disable, then enable gore thing Moritz_M05 mentioned to get blood and gibbing enemies.
