im actually laying in bed with a laptop who's battery barely functions,a cheap wireless mouse that gets things done. and not too long ago,i was still using a 10-15 year old computer who's graphics card burnt out.
There's a guy that even talked about this whole thing in a video, just do a search on youtube for "Destroying Black Mesa - A Point About The Nuke". I don't need to say more, just watch the video! If those aren't enough points to make you believe this fact, then i don't know what will. And next time think again before saying "you don't know how a thermonuclear bomb works", because that's just immature and stupid, considering the fact that you're not even nuclear physicists to begin with, and therefore you know as much about the subject as everyone else does.
also the black ops just wanted a bomb that would render the facility unusable for further experiments and to kill all of the witnesses with its radiation fallout, not one that would blow up the entire desert apart and the facility with it.
one other minor detail is that the bomb we see in-game looks even smaller than the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WW2, which clearly means that it was less than 15 kilotons of TNT. and 15 kilotons is nowhere close to enough to blow up an entire facility buried kilometres underground.
It's also foolish to assume there was only one nuke. The Lamba complex itself took a beating from direct invasion. Even when you arrive there in HL, it's just a mess, barely functioning. The last ditch effort to send Freeman through to to the borderworlds, to assassinate whatever command structure the aliens has, what just that. Shortly after he makes the jump, the teleportation chamber collapses, and Adrian himself has to make a hasty retreat to another portal, which drops him off in a different part of the borderworlds.
