Can HL1's Deathmatch Maps Work With OF?
As well as custom ones made for HL1?

OF is basically leeching off HL1 in a sense, so all HL1 deathmatch maps will work and you don't even need to do anything apart from entering the command in console. Example;
map crossfire
As for the custom ones, you need to make sure the texture file (.WAD) is in gearbox directory, and it should work flawlessly.

Ah, okie. Well all I have to do is add a map to the maps folder which makes them available in the menu, so there's no need to use the console to access them. Since it's said the game has more weapons than HL1 and features different items, there would be issues with the maps.

The only problem would be OF weapons would not spawn in the map, since they're map entities and not randomly optimized.

I hope people make OF versions of custom HL1 maps.

There are a bunch already. Even working ports of HL1 maps like op4_crossfire. Look over gamebanana or find servers.
