Half-Life: Opposing Force

Half-Life: Opposing Force

I cant Jump on boxes
Like the title says I cant jump on any of the waist high boxes, which is required to pass some levels. Such as the one where you have to move the conveyor over the green slime and jump across it to open the door switch

as a tip for anyone else having trouble moving around in this game and half life
first start the game half life

1 click new game in the game starting menus
2 click training room
enjoy the treining course

then start the game opposing force
1 click new game in the game starting menus
2 click training room
enjoy the treining course

and then have fun playing the game for real :)

Let's be honest. The duck jump is a major pain in the backside.
It's miserable timing it with the moving, and jumping.
It helped me to rebind the duck jump ( crouch ) to the Q key.
It can help when you're crouching, and sneaking around the map too.
But the movement in these old Half Life games is one of the hardest parts.
It feels like you're over stepping, running when you move on normal AWSD.
Use the W and Left Shift to walk if you feel like you're moving to fast.
And remember to F6 and save before you have a nervy jump to make.
Then you can reload if you fall, and die.
So much fun.

You have to remember that in these old games you're basically a giant block of wood taking a stroll through an underground megacomplex physics-wise. That's all they could do at the time. 3D was fairly new then too.
