How can I walk faster with this game?

This is only the second game I've played with a controller (a hand-me-down). Nothing I've tried allows me to walk faster. I'm stuck on a level where I need to shoot an energy ball, then run.

The back of my controller says "Xbox", so I guess it's an Xbox controller, if that helps. I've tried X, A, B, Y, LT, RT, LB, RB and nothing makes me go faster.

You can't. You don't need to run. You have plenty of time.

I don't for one level. I have to grab the energy ball, move it to another slot, then run over a bridge before it runs out of juice. No matter how fast I do it, I fall through the bridge before I get to the other side. I've seen a walkthrough video, and they are definitely moving faster than I am.

Are you sure you can't change the speed? I saw a question from someone asking how to actually reduce the default speed and they said the available speeds were walk, jog, run, implying it was possible to change the speed in this game. (They might have been mistaken.)

I've tried at least 30 times and I just can't get to the other side. I'm sure if you've been using a controller for years, you can aim that gun so precisely it's almost inhuman, but I need just a few milliseconds to wiggle it to get it aimed right, and I'm always just short of the opposite side. I know it would be months before I can use that gross-motor control on the xbox for honing in on a tiny spot on the screen while moving my gun. Thought this was a puzzle game :-( I love the puzzles, but wish I could ask for my money back. I wont' be playing anymore.

Since you have an Xbox controller, then you can sprint by pressing down on the left stick (both the left and right sticks also act as buttons if pressed down).

Also note that this is configurable through the settings menu, so you could assign sprint to a different button if desired.

I had the same problem, tried everything. I then exited to main menu and reset key mapping to default and restarted the game. For some reason it fixed it and still worked after I remapped it.....go figure.
