You can see solution later in the game.

Does anyone have a screenshot of it or say which chapter it's in? I scoured the web, and all I can find is people giving the answer (with some saying they brute forced it), but nobody saying where it's actually found.

I think its in a Bio Lab, chapter 5, very end.

Thanks, that was the only thing in the game i was unable to figure out myself.
It's actually found in a couple of places. Here's one:

Lol this is the one I found, and I realised at the time it was the code but kept playing and had no idea where I saw it thanks!

Kind of weird from a story standpoint that you should need to move on to find the solution. Not only would Ava have no reason to come back to that particular room, I'm not even sure all the spaces she goes through *can* be traversed in the other direction once you're through.

I just brute-forced it, unfortunately. Didn't even see a solution for it later (but I also stopped looking for it).

My opinion was that even though the note is found later in the game, the intended solution was the brute force approach.

It is only a 2 combination lock so you can deduce it's only about 300 possibilities and takes a half-second or less to try each one, so it can be cracked in a few minutes.

IF they really wanted you to find a note first, then they could have made a 3 (or more) combination lock.

Wanted to thank you all for asking and answering the question. After I finished the game I used a walkthrough specifically to get that last achievement. But it showed the code without explanation. I kept asking myself "How was I meant to know that ?" and you told me. I appreciate it.

I think that too... remember evolution tries to every combination to make it work, that's it's creativity. And a robot's creativity is to try every possible combination.

edit: I just realized that this thread was extremely old... I apologise. I didn't realized while writing this reply.
