All my cars are gone after game crash
Hello. It's my first time posting on Steam. I was just playing SLRR today where everything mostly went well. But when I misclicked into one of the "Hot Action Cop" challenges and immediately exited from that level, the game crashed.
I know crashes are occasionally common in this game, but they did not reset my career until today. I had about one and a half story worth of cars in my garage. All the progress I made over the past 1~2 years are gone.
Weirdly, the amount of money I have and the inventory parts are still present. I tried looking into the save files, but there were no backups prior to today.
I honestly don't know what to do at this point. Is there a fix or should I start over?

Did you check the file folder in the PC itself? You might be able to find a backup there. If not, then I'm pretty sure you're screwed. Cheats would come in handy to try and rebuild (Enable cheats in the hidden options menu, go in the garage, type the codes, then click the screwdriver, there's 'begformoney' which gives 100k, 'letmeroc' which takes you directly to the ROC, 'testme' which allows you to get a free car of your choice)

Yes. I went to steamapps>common>SLRR>save>temp and...... nothing. So yeah it does seem that they have all vanished for good. I still have my $1.5 million and inventory parts intact, though.
Also, I checked my green-tier and blue-tier career save files and they were intact! So I guess I could either buy cars with my remaining money in the damaged career file or build up everything again from the blue-tier career point.
It's annoying to start over again, but at least it won't be from the VERY beginning. My cars are also still there as well, albeit fewer since I didn't have as many cars back then.
Nevertheless, thank you so much for the response!

No problem, I'd buy a new Chassis (MCA MC GT; Lamborghini Diablo SV (if you downloaded the mod; it's an absolute monster, the reason I won the ROC, just watch the oversteer off the line, and don't use Nos unless you can handle it, because the car will go nuts)), and building a new suspension + engine

Thanks for the tip :) I am not really into modding for this game so I might give the MC GT a try. Time to build up my career again!

I wish you the best of luck friend!
Oh! The pain! Found all my beautiful, beautiful cars gone after saving! Over 10 million worth of vehicles, built from the ground up
Gone

There is a bug causing this, see here

Please check your error.log file and compare to the errors in the description, or just post here, to confirm that it is the same problem.

Glad to hear there is a potential fix! I've read over the instructions, but I still need some clarification.
Am I supposed to reproduce the crash in the same career file (in its current state), and restart the game to see the cars to have reappeared in the lot again?

Also, here is the error log:

Unfortunately there is no way to restore the cars, the fix should just avoid the described errors.

Your error looks different, will take a look into it.

Wich mods are you using?

Anyways also check out other issues and fixes https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2195070614

Aw... that's too bad. I guess I have to work up from the blue racing tier after all.

I have no mods installed; completely vanilla. Thank you anyway!
