subscribing to mods in workshop does nothing
I'm not sure how the subscription method works in SLRR. Is there an additional step to use a mod other than just clicking 'subscribe?'

"manageworkshopitems: target path is incorrect! Did you really install the game?

*sigh...*
The installer is not reliable, just install the stuff manually;
Go to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\497180\(Any of the numbered folders)"
Copy-paste all the files from there into the game folder and you're done.

hmm, I think it would work if you open the installer through you game files,
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Street Legal Racing Redline and click on the workshop installer(usually located at the bottom).
From there, you can click on all the mods you subscribed to and install them. Just be wary that some mods will mess up your game :D

I tried both methods. Copying the numbered folders into the game directory does nothing. Opening the installer from the directory gives me the same error.

Can you tell me what mods you have tried to install?

You have to copy the contents of the numbered folders into your root game directory, not the folder itself

I put it in steamapps/common/SLRR directory as well as stemapps/common both with the same issue.

Just trying to install some car and parts skins

Are you making sure your getting the mods from the SLRR workshop directory. If you do this correctly the mods would work next time you load the game. There’s no reason for them not to. I would write up a better explanation but I am at work. Best I can say is lookup how to manually install workshop mods for slrr

Check your game directory name. At some point it was renamed from "Street Legal Racing Redline 2.3.1" to "Street Legal Racing Redline". If your SLR dir has the number in it try renaming it.

I renamed the folder by removing the version number. Steam redownloaded another version with the original file name.

In the renamed folder, the game editor is working. Seems like that's the issue but there is a disconnect between what steam installs and what the game editor wants to see.

Try reinstalling the game.
