If I find the CD, I'll try (can't promise) to install the Activision version of SLRR later. Maybe I can find some differences there. In the Steam version there is a mess.
I also thought that the Stallion is 99-04 Mustang, but when I saw the interrior, it reminded me a Lexus model, I can't remember what exactly. But I saw one on youtube where speedo digits were written like on Škoda and it had a large split to two dial like on the Stallion. Sorry, can't remember and my laziness doesn't let me browse all Lexice models to find it. :) By the way, it has a japanese 3.2 and 3.5 V6 motors. Mustang has 3.8V6 and 4.6V8. God I love the Terminator... It's in my dream list for a long time.
SuperDuty looks like Ram. Badge is more like '69 Pontiac GTO Judge. That would mean Hauler's is Dodge and Pontiac. But Viper is PFAA. Naxas is PFAA too. If Prime DLH is the first Mustang, it is also a PFAA.
If Duhen inc. is Honda and Toyota (and Nissan), then it should have included Yotta, Teg, Zed and Naxas. Now Teg is a Volkswagen, Zed is a Subaru, Yotta is a BMW and Naxas is even more unknown.
Kurumma and MC GT are MCA, that means MCA is Chevrolet. That way the Stallion doesn't fit in it either way let it be a Mustang or a Lexus. Codrac (or Cobalt SS) is also a Volkswagen.
As for ST9, both Mazdas run on Wankel and none of theem has an I4 or a V6 (which was available in first version). In SLRR it's a Mitsubishi.
The only clear models here are Subaru Impreza, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Jetta, Honda Civic, Honda Civic Del Sol, BMW 525, Mitsubishi Lancer, Mitsubishi Eclipse, '70 Chevrolet Camaro and '96 Chevrolet Camaro.
Obvious models but with mixed makes include Nissan Skyline R32, Dodges Viper and RAM, all mentioned Nissans and Toyotas, Honda NSX, Ferrari Enzo and '04 Chevrolet Cobalt SS.
The badge, which also has a GTO version, Prime DLH, Stallion and ST9 are left on the mystery side of the matter.
I think it's possible that the creators of the game-cars had more than one real car as inspiration.
'69 Pontiac GTO Judge looks totally different from the side and the back.
I really would not seek any logic in manufacturers of SL 1 cars, as they were just added to SL 2 in this version.
About ST9, Mazda MX-3 had I4 and V6, and the wankel would mean more complexity for the game, so would not rely on that.
I mixed up MX3 with RX8. You know. One thing in mind, another on the tip of the tongue. :)
And MX3 didn't have Wankel. My mistake again.
About SL1 → SL2 cars, my personal opinion is that when transferring them, Activision (or ImageCode) screwed up a bit by assigning makes to the models.
But to think again, putting everything to their correct spots would possibly pose a threat of copyright and licencing claims from auto makers. Again my opinion. :)
