Are there any mods for this game anywhere?
If I could mod one thing in the game it would be the temples. I would make the upgrades take a lot more coin, but be permanent. Similar to building a boat, you would have to pump about 100 coins into it to complete it and get the benefit.

When I get far into the game I have loads of coin and I can easily keep them topped off, but I find all of the running back and forth a bit tedious.

Far as I can tell, no modding support. You can answer your question from that.

Bit sad, as I really enjoy mods for just about any game. Also extends the life of a game massively.

We may look into mods one day, but nothing planned for now

Hm. this would extend the lifetime of this game indefinitely. Big mods could even be officially approved and monetized. (yay steam!)

Definitely look into this option.

I've only ever found one mod, Kingdom-God, and it doesn't do what you're looking for, unfortunately. It's more of a sandbox mod that lets you play around with things. I've never used it myself, although I've been mildly tempted to get it just for the 'build walls wherever you want' feature, since that would save me from some of the issues caused by the RNG placing wall mounds in incredibly difficult places. I'm with you, though; I'd prefer mods that just tweaked aspects of the base game.

Really, still looking into mods?

Add modification support already. You won't lose anything. Actually you will win something. Playing this game with new buildings/units/strategies could be really nice. And player base could grow really fast with that way. Communities improves the game, not developers.
It probably takes a decent bit of work to add modding to the game. Its probably similar to porting. You don't just copy paste the game's code onto an xbox disc or switch cart and say "Enjoy" as you need to adjust a lot of things so it runs on the console, and well at that.

Also, while I appreciate your enthusiasm for modding and I do agree that mod support is a good thing for pretty much all games(and I definitely wouldn't be opposed if all non-competitive-multiplayer games were built from the ground up with mod support in mind), saying devs don't improve games is just...ridiculous. Communities make games successful, there's no doubt about that, and mods can make games even better than the devs left it...but devs make the game, period. And often they keep adding improvements and new features to games long after the game launches; sometimes they even take mods and make them official content. Devs aren't somehow less important to improving a game than modders are, unless you're Bethesda.

(I'm sorry, I kid, but I couldn't resist.)
