If
1. They solve the issue that steam account cannot buy CERA.
2. Update to the latest version like Korean server,
then,
it is not a dead game.
Well, 3k+ players at Steam and 800-1k now is a big drop but you have to understand that most of the active player base play not trough Steam account cause you can`t link your Steam acc and pre-Steam DFO acc. So logically you don`t see reall player count numbers.

We are less then a handful of patches behind KDnF and have been for a long time. Mostly balance changes not counting all the new 90 cap content from the last 2-3 months. We are also pretty even in patches to the other asian servers which have been out for years and at one point we where even ahead of them.

Still better then when it was run by nexon NA and being atleast 3 years behind.

On topic:

I do hope you know the game has been back since last march but only recently been added to steam. There is a few reasons that have already listed why the steam population isnt that big, but in no way reflects the games actual population.

Alot of the community didn't think steam would do anything but the ones who did where very vocal and lol looks like they where wrong. And or they them selves just wanted to be lazy and play dfo through steam buuuuuut u cant link accounts so rip them.

You see, a comparison with nexon is meaningless. I play DFO just because I use a X1 carbon which can hardly support most 3D games like WOW. So I compare it with Blizzard rather than nexon. Also, compared to any Asian servers, no matter Japan's, Korea's, China's, the population of American server is just a minor. This is not because it started since last March, but because American players prefer gun, ball and car games.
The numbers would probably be higher if people could just link their old accounts. Its kind of a hassle to have to logout your steam ID then log in your DFO account every time you want to play.

I find this entire thread hilarius. :raven:
can we just not claim the death of the game already?
Wham 17. Okt. 2016 um 5:26
when you're able to log in and not see a single other soul playing, then you can call the game dead. Until that time, it will be very much alive.
dead.

If you think this game is dead you probably havent,
A.Joined a guild
B.Gone to OV
C.Tried PvP
New charatcers under level 50 I suppose would find the game "dead" as most hit level cap and are gearing up for endgame. 50 is when you start to see partys to grind special dungeons to level faster.
