Yes I know, but then it's a community mainly of children who don't understand anything about a survival game, they prefer guns that go boom boom and pop zombies like an arcade game like call of duty , that's why the devs only make updates with "always more" arcade, than to improve the game itself which is initially a post-apocalyptic zombie survival game. I strongly think that State of Decay 3 will be very bad given Underlabs' approach to State of Decay 2.... We add mods to the arcade but we don't improve survival. I'm strongly thinking about the multiplayer mod which even with improvements won't change much... because when I join a multiplayer game, people just make big zombie waves shooting everything that moves and cheating on the way up on a car... because the A.I. is stupid and doesn't know how to climb on a vehicle. The proof is that in multiplayer, few players (if any) play discreetly, they carry out heavy savage assaults... and if they are attacked, they just have to leave the game without consequences... . they might have to at least add "a few seconds to quit the game when no zombies attack, and this cancels if they are attacked" in order to assume that they played badly... Anyway back to the point that they don't improve the quality of life of the game, they add bugs to exploitable bugs.
In addition, you just have to go through the community editor to have 999 grenades in your inventory and simply spam... which explains why when I join a multiplayer game with my crossbow and my 20 bolts, as well as my 3/4 grenades, other players have unlimited salvos of ammo and can easily shoot over 300 zombies without problem and without leaving the game.
In short... the game is broken, and even the developers use their own bugs like making the vehicle unbreakable in reverse... unrecoverable, I don't expect much from SoD 3 apart from a call of duty in the snow with pseudo base management and atomic gadgets to kill 100 zombies in one hit. SoD 2 has become an arcade game, all the updates are moving in this direction.
Its probably fun for experienced players and those with a full community setup. As a new players, they were awful. I have a sticky note to remind me to turn it off every time I start up the game.
While I appreciate the difficulty increase with the mutations as far as I can tell the zombies in the affected area don't gain any interesting weaknesses as a counter to the buff and when influence or mats are offered for killing them it's usually a pitiful amount that makes it pointless and better to just avoid them till the timer runs out.
Just an hour ago I was heading on my way to kill some plague hearts in the vicinity of a new command center I wanted to relocate to, a radio curveball triggered and I was compelled to go to the opposite side of the map and then clear 2 plague hearts that were both overlapping the radio tower that had to be secured. The reward was getting the nerfs removed and a measly 100 influence, for taking gametime away from me the rewards weren't worth it and it just felt like a huge distraction from me actually enjoying the game.
EDIT: After loading my van, npc and follower with tradeable items to sell to my enclaves I get a random "everything you sell you now get less influence for" event with no way of cutting it short, just have to wait it out. This isn't fun or interesting it just makes our enjoyment of the game worse.
Some of these more annoying curveballs (black heart especially) shouldn't even happen until x amount of days on a map have passed, that gives new players (like me) time to breathe and settle down before we get annoyed to death by them.
** at least add more houses in purple under the event.
