After playing a game it now crashes to desktop

I played a new game for a couple of hours today. Closed the game and after a couple of hours tried to launch it again only for it to crash to desktop. Verified all files no issues. The game launches, displays Microsoft Studios logo then display Undead Labs logo then crashes straight to desktop. Rebooted PC. Still crashes to desktop.

EDIT: Updated graphics drivers. Still crashes to desktop.

Checked logs. Somehow I am getting an exception code 0x00000001. This translates as an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH which in general means a task sequence failed to execute.

Any help please.

Fixed. It does not like the CPU affinity being messed with. Had my first core disabled affinity wise and all other cores in use.

it use to play fine..i hadn't played since oct of last year..everything seems good..i did the update..now i go to play it..loads then crashes every time..any help or suggestions?

Just from my own "researching" and looking at threads on Reddit, the most likely or most common factor for the crashing to desktop is related to conflict with NVIDIA drivers and some third-party software. What third-party software is the problem hasn't been disclosed or proven as far as I can tell but it gives you all something to look into yourselves.
