Lethal Mode is a joke
Would rather play Project Zomboid, where zombies aren't being spawned over and over and over and over and over again.

I've played more than 1k hours on lethal. it is very easy difficulty. if u have problems there then go play tetris

You're right. It's more annoying than difficult, which is what the complaints are about.

This is just a weird complaint to have. This is the point of Lethal mode. How many modes do you want them to make before this is the highest difficulty mode? Five modes? Seven modes? Twenty modes?

NGL, the pop-in spawns (while driving are the worst if you wanna keep that car in good shape haha) can be badly done, yup. That's just an issue with things spawning when you're there, and when you aren't.

Game design meets performance limitations? Yer travelling too fast, so things can't load in fast enough, so you get the pop-ins?
Just tried fresh start on lethal. No boons (i dont finish heritage quests in normal, so... consider i dont finish game at all). No DLC`s.
Get wrecked 2 times in a row xDDD
Those 1st day plagued ARMORED ferals are NASTY
Tomorrow be next day, next try

I would like to know if people start the game in lethal mode with new characters or are they using characters they already have.

I start lethal with new characters and that makes the game really more complicated, with old characters that have weapons and have full cardio, etc. it can become easier in the game, yes, if that character dies you may suffer plus

You should start new thread about it then.

I sometimes play with new characters but I like playing with my legacy characters as well.

New characters are only harder first few hours
until you manage to find some guns and equipment.

Yup Lethal is the ultimate challenge, after that there are mods (Darkside) and speedruns (guy called FalldownGoboom is an absolute beast in Lethal Sod2 speedruns).

Zombies can be unfair as much as they want, game is still very much unfair to them: they can't beat player characters being able to use stamina items, dodge and climbing (and don't even get me started on radio calls ^^).

I always start with fresh characters, but with boons (as I find setting up a new Power/Water every map I move to just too tedious). I do go and get good guns straight away, though (for the two NPC survivors) - so that makes the opening stage far less dangerous for the NPC survivors at my base. After that I go and get a Crossbow before even getting Materials.

Edit: when the Forever Community update is released, I plan to actually start without boons, because then it is less tedious moving maps.

Honestly I kinda love lethal. The only problem I have with it is that it becomes virtually impossible to kill human npcs unless you snipe them from like halfway across the map or spam bait on them. I basically just avoid anything involving human enemies because its just a chore to fight them. I definitely noticed what you mean about spawns though, but it's never seemed to screw me over too much. Only time it becomes a noticeable issue for me is when I drive and they just pop in on the road, but when I'm walking or just clearing an area I don't have any issues.
I don't understand the problem with human enemies in lethal. Gunslinger = headshot and it knocks them down with a bullet or two. I have more problems with instabloaters appearing from nowhere and 8 blood juggs attacking my base during a siege making it pointless to defend vs just eating the resource cost.

The problem is the only way to kill them is through cheese, they aren't enjoyable to fight. I mean think about what you just said "gunslinger=headshot" so you admit the only feasible way to kill them outside of cheese is by maxing one skill and spamming it. Its not enjoyable to be pigeonholed into one specific playstyle because nothing else is viable.

I don't get the complaints about the spawn. The only time I have ever noticed it to be a problem is when you're driving at highspeeds and they just pop-in before your eyes. In regular gameplay its barely relevant to me.

How did you get 8 Juggernauts to attack you during a Siege? I would like to try that! 1-2 is boring.

With snap aim you headshot them and they fall right down with a couple shots. As long as you're not by yourself and surrounded next to them they're not much more dangerous than on lower difficulties. They're not easy by any stretch but they're just in line with everything else on lethal.

I have bloaters spawn in at any speed, and even when I shoot them on foot I have imbecile AI run into the cloud for no reason.

I dunno man. It was the corner office base and it wiped out that community.

lol that's my point. The only way to efficiently deal with them is by cheese or to play in one particular play style when fighting humans. If you don't spam snapshot they will literally instantly kill you, its virtually impossible to fight them properly. They're not in line with the rest of lethal mode, most of the other stuff is genuinely challenging while the humans are straight up just using aimbot to instant kill your ass. Yes its possible to kill them but its not my idea of fun to spam bait or just use snap aim constantly. I like to RP and play the game immersively.

I dunno, I am not a particularly good player and just find them as difficult as the rest of the crap in lethal mode. I don't find it fun to rear end juggs with a miragra or rely on drone strikes to take out a PH but that is what I don't understand given this thread. They just seem as much a pita scaled in difficulty as everything else.

In fact if there was a way to get rid of Juggs and leave everything else lethal I would. I find them to be massively tedious with no reward. At least enemy humans stand a decent chance to drop something halfway useful.

I dunno I am probably talking out my ass.
