Is there an equivilant for creating Ammo (the recource, not the bullets) from stuff?
I know on Dread I am usually good with 1 +2 Ammo outpost (later on I go to 2 +2 just because I have the slot)
That is right. It is imperative that everyone have a character with "Munitions", from what I have experienced, at the higher-difficulties.
2. Build a Trade Depot and call in an Ammo trader
3. Target Plague Hearts having Ammo rewards
4. Trade with Enclaves and the various Wandering Traders
5. Produce Ammo in the Workshop
6. Radio Call RT to get a spawned rucksack somewhere
7. Max upgrade all 6-7 Outpost slots, for 18-21 Ammo per day
8. Do all of these until the map is looted, then move to a new map.
All of these take time, so that is the real limitation. People are perhaps less asking for how to get ammo (all 8 are well-known by now), and more how to get ammo quickly. And how to get Influence quickly, I guess. This is because if the goal is to finish a legacy, your community is lost forever and all the 15000 rounds of .50 will be gone with it. This should inform how you play the game in the following ways:
A) If you aim to finish the legacies as quickly as possible, then you should ideally spend your very last explosive on the very last Plague Heart, and your last round of ammo the second before the cutscene tells you that you beat the game.
B) If you aim to finish the legacies after having fully maxed out your community, then the legacy itself was not really the main goal - then the journey was itself a goal. How much ammo or resources you had when the cutscene comes is irrelevant.
C) If the goal is to survive forever with your community, then #8 is the way to go. Then having lots and lots of ammo is just a result of playing for a long time.
D) If the goal is to survive forever in a single map, however, then you need #1-6 and to nullify all upkeep. And to use all the tricks in the book to get what you need as the map becomes emptier and emptier.
No. Completing a legacy finishes the game and retires the community. You get to use up to 3 of the retired characters and a boon the next time you start.
